Re: Cylinder head gasket sealant
A week further on and still no low water alarm, hopefully it was a gasket and I cured it. Bingo lives on

Re: Cylinder head gasket sealant
And it holds water, well for the last hour it has. :D had a quick spin and it feels up on power. Haven't been over 2k revs at the moment but so far so good. It may still leak but no clouds of smoke on startup, so either it was injectors or as Ady said it's the turbo, hats off to George at bongo spar...

Re: Cylinder head gasket sealant
Hi all, well day 4 and we are nearly ready to turn over to prime the turbo oil pipe. Today was spent putting the turbo on and changing all water hoses. Unfortunately the injectors weren't finished until this evening so I still need to install them and the egr valve and vacuum solonoids. Just a coupl...

Re: Persistent squeak/squeal, a bit stumped for ideas...
Is the squeak from the front or the back, if the back handbrake shoes adjusted too tight. If the front maybe the dust guard gas been moved and is catching the disc.

Re: Cylinder head gasket sealant
Hi all, well I took Simons advise and used stag well seal, I used it due to the fact it looks like the original head and was pitted in a few places. I also was really careful getting the old gasket off, I used brasso to try and polish the old carbon off. I must say well seal spreads superbly loads b...

Re: Turbo charger suppliers anyone
Well George it is for the turbo, arriving tomorrow, cheapest I could find was £250 for a recondition, or £420 for new . I can buy a seal and bearing kit and recon my own for £38. Injectors are at a little place in Peterborough, but it looks like £50 quid each.

Re: Turbo charger suppliers anyone
Hi Simon, yeah saw that but that's a little over where I want to be, I'm hoping for a recon or service exchange, failing that I might have to bite the bullet. I think the injectors may cost me £150-200 so an expensive water leak this.

Turbo charger suppliers anyone
Have finally got round to stripping bingo to see where my water leak was from. Trouble is in stripping everything off you get to have a good look at things, turbocharger has lateral movement to the point where the blades catch the housing. Does anyone know where I can get a new or reconditioned one ...

Re: Water loss bad starting and lots of questions
Hi scanner it's like smoke, smelly like paraffin and slow to dissipate. Not like steam which I imagine would clear quickly.

Water loss bad starting and lots of questions
Hi all, Had Bingo for a few years now, she's never used any water and always started ok. About a year and a half ago she began starting on 3 cylinders only then went to 4 after a while. I changed the glow plugs and she was back to normal. About 6 months ago she started using a little water, nothing ...
