Re: Front fog lamp wiring
Well having had a look thru all 55 diagrams that show those 6 relays, and also another possible 3 on the o/s above those 6, they all seem to be variations on the following Fan1, Fan2, ADD FAN, Horn (2 possible positions), De-mister, Air Con (3 possible), Ignition circuit. However I won't swear that ...

Re: Front fog lamp wiring
Checked mine today, no Fog lamp relay fitted should be in front of the three labelled below;
There fitted as two pairs on brackets but only fitted as required mine has the spare bracket position at the very front.

Re: Front fog lamp wiring
Thanks Kirsty and Tony, I'll give them ago. I've been saving up a few jobs since last year and now is the time to tackle them as it won't be long till. I suspect that the wiring loom maybe part fitted like the connector for the switches and hopefully the other end that would lead to the relay is the...

Re: Front fog lamp wiring
Ah ha yes the Fact sheet confirms - some seem to have the wiring loom others don't, also yes a 30Amp relay is needed the factsheet is "Fitting ‘aftermarket’ front fog lights". Seems I will have to put my Auto Electricians hat on and get some bits in - Anyone bought from these people VEHICL...

Re: Front fog lamp wiring
Its not in our V6, I was looking underneath just a couple of days ago for the same reason as I had noted that there are wiring looms available on Ebay which I thought a little odd if they were all fitted. Some one also mentioned that theirs was actually relay switched - I must get the diagrams out a...

Re: Zig charging
There are several Zig chargers available there web site is here the smallest charger / supply wil give you 12.5A @13.8 volts the larger one gives 16 A. These obviously both charge and supply the electricals when connected to the mains. Most of the small chargers available from Lidl etc will only giv...

You might find this write-up of some help, its primarily intended for Starter Batteries but the basic facts remain the same;

Re: Leisure Battery, split charge relay advice please...
Just noticed that while I wrote the above the times were based on getting the full capacity out of the battery, that you won't do without knackering it, about 50% is the normal limit so where I suggested 20-30 hours it should read 10-15 hours etc.

Re: Leisure Battery, split charge relay advice please...
I have a multimeter but have never used it to measure current. Do you happen to know how you do that? I have an in-car voltmeter wired up to show LB voltage so that is taken care of. OK, your going to need two (2) meters one to measure the voltage whilst the load is connected and the second to meas...

Re: Leisure Battery, split charge relay advice please...
The instructions said to disconnect the battery before charging it, but I didn't fancy the hassle so didn't bother. Is there a reason why you should? Yep, the can't be considered liable if anything goes wrong, also if there is any siginifcant load then it won't be charging the battery in the way it...

Re: volt sensing relay
Measure the current from the relay flowing into the L/B. It should only start once the engine has started and the S/B voltage has exceeded the voltage the relay is set for. Without details of the relay I can't say what that will be, but you would expect a few seconds from once the engine has started...

Re: What do you reckon to these reversing sensors?
We've that type of parking sensor on our Spacewagon ( for sale ) and its a little too sensitive to rough and wet roads and verges than we would prefer. The standard Ultrasonic type gives much better performance and is less critical about the odd bump it would seem. We find a camera is the best answe...

Re: Leisure Battery, split charge relay advice please...
Try reading these two pages from the links I've given previously, don't just skim read them because they discuss using different charging patterns for different ways of using batteries. You need to think about how the battery has been used prior to the charging, what else might be going on whilst yo...

rwill try these application notes http://www.ssousa.com/appnote050.asp note the practical experimental notes at the end. or these http://machinedesign.com/BDE/Electrical/bdeee6/bdeee6_14.html this describes the failure modes quite well. Then take a look at this chip - its designed to DETECT such fai...

Re: Flameproof Switch
A major problem with SSR's are that they are NOT intrinsically fail safe. Most failure modes cause the device to start carrying current rather than to fail open circuit. Raised temperature causes the substrate to leak which inturn causes the device to turn on, significant pulses on the supply can al...
