Re: Bongo sale advice

Maybe the 'For Sale' section on here, or see what Bongo Spares can offer.

Good luck.

Re: Should I ATTEMPT to start my Bongo?

Couple of recommendations here: https://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?p=724535&hilit=Mechanic+plymouth#p724535 Fitting a battery is pretty simple, and Tayna have proved to be a good supplier: https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnfmsBhDfARIsAM7MKi37qe...

Re: Should I ATTEMPT to start my Bongo?

Afterthought: if the battery is completely flat you’re booster pack won’t work. This isn’t a fault, just if they don’t sense about 2v they don’t apply power to prevent reverse connection. Best if you can put a charger on the Bongo battery first, but see my comment about the battery possibly having f...

Re: Should I ATTEMPT to start my Bongo?

Hi Sarah Completely agree with Geoff. If you try and sell Bongy as a non-starter, with no MoT you’re looking at scrap value, which may be zero if someone has to collect it. The petrol may well have 'gone off', so I would drain the tank and add some fresh, and the battery may well have deteriorated s...

Re: Problems going into Drive

The auto box is pretty standard, so a decent mechanic should be fine with it.

Sadly it seems Shepton Mallet Jail is to close as a visitor attraction early January.

Well worth a visit if you can.

I promise I've only done the tour, not been a 'guest'. 8)

Re: Overheating but okay on pressure and sniff test?

To be honest be it head or gasket the head has to come off, so if the head's good it can go back on, if not there’s little extra labour to replace it.

Re Exeter garages, since Allan's retirement Doone has recommended a couple near Plymouth. A search of her posts will find them.

Re: ECU Wiring diagram 2001 V6 AFT

Ian does them in the Bongo Shop, but he’s away for a week.

Edit: For a complete engine Bongo Spares are a good bet, they will also likely have a belt kit, and not stupid far from you.
