Re: First big successful trip!

Here are some extra pics: https://ibb.co/album/xqq2WV I'll do a proper write up on the trip soon! Looks like a good trip, will do something similar myself soon enough. I was looking at the Roadtrippers app and although it's an American app it looks like it could work well here. You can setup waypoi...

Re: Van won't rev up.

Right, since I can't find any easy way of nuking my account I'm going to have to come clean. It turns out that I put €20 petrol into the van instead of diesel. I still don't know what I was thinking about at the time but I'm sure it was probably very important stuff :o I actually had to phone the fi...

Van won't rev up.

Hi all, I drove to a destination and during the last bit noticed that the van was down on power. When I went to start it up again it only barely started and would not rev up. I have no idea what's causing this, it was raining fairly heavy so I thought water was after going somewhere where it shouldn...

Re: Leak from bottom of air conditioning unit?

I checked it and the coolant levels are spot on. I was confused because it didn't seem to be coolant and to the best of my knowledge the air con and coolant systems are all the one. There was a good size of a puddle out of it which I've never seen happen before. Maybe it's something to do with the t...

Leak from bottom of air conditioning unit?

Hi all, Took the van out for a spin and noticed a leak right dead center under the front bumper later in the day after it was left parked up for a while. I assumed the worst but upon closer inspection it appears to be coming from a hole in the bottom of the plastic unit shown in the picture. I have ...

Re: the recommended oil please

Have sourced and fitted the correct filter and filled it up with 5W-30.

The van is back on the road, the sun is shining and the weekend is here.

All is right with the world again

Re: Sony XAV-AX1000

If the wiring for the reversing camera is already ran then you're over the worst of it. Some of the newer head units come with WiFi built in so they can connect to reversing cameras wirelessly. You can get an adapter called carplay2air which works with some units so that you can connect to Android a...

Re: the recommended oil please

Right... that had to be the least fruitful trip to town in recent memory. I somehow managed to get burnt oil on the cardboard box of the filter I planned on exchanging while on my way in to exchange it. Totally my own fault so I wasn't expecting to be able to return that one  #-o They told me ...

Re: the recommended oil please

It looks like they gave me the wrong oil filter so I'm going to be returning it today.

While I'm there should I switch out the oil too?

98 166k 2.5TD

What oil should I be putting in there?

I've seen a couple mentioned, I have 10 W 40 here but should it be 5 W 30?

Re: the recommended oil please

Ah ok thanks. According to the site I've linked I need the Japanparts FO-505S or FO-505P filter.

The one I was given at the motor factors is a FO-KO5S

Re: the recommended oil please

I'm after getting Valvoline All climate extra 10W-40 synthetic oil and a Japanparts FO-KO5S oil filter in the local motor factors. I'm after draining the oil and screwing out the old oil filter which was a Blue Print ADC42105. I know it's a bit late to be asking now but I just wanted to confirm that...

Re: Show us yer insides

Looks good Vlme,
What kind of bike rack is that?
A swing out one like that looks much more convenient than the one I have where you cant open the rear door.

Also, I think you should hang up a hockey mask beside the hatchet for the laugh
