Re: Full rubber hose replacement price ?
I'm considering this for our V6, which is slowly losing coolant. From that link (thanks teenmal) I'm reckoning on £378 for a full set inc the rear heater hoses. Plus replacement coolant and, in our case, a thermostat too, as it didn't get changed when the water pump was replaced. Probably £500 in pa...

Re: Battery monitor
I bought a couple of these for just the same reason, great little bits of kit.

Re: my coolant is making me go bongo!
Pretty much the first job I did on our van was replace the radiator, after it sprung a big leak at the top. Replacement with a pattern rad was a straightforward task, and the bleeding process is long-winded but follow the YouTube videos precisely and you won’t go far wrong. I took it slowly with the...

Transmission lurch when selecting drive - 2001 V6 lpg
Hi folks, Our bus is lurching significantly when selecting drive. There is no clunking or other unsavoury noises, just the lurch. Going into reverse does it slightly, but much less so (feels much more 'normal'). Once the ship is under way, she changes between gears smoothly, it's just when moving fr...

Re: Middle seat rotating mechanism
Hi, sorry - I missed your reply.
We have three point belts on the two outer seats, and a lap-belt on the middle seat. I think this is the factory arrangement.

Greenflag personal cover, asked specifically about the beastly bus and she's covered. There's probably an age limit though.

Re: advice on buying a Bongo
We bought one with an AFT (the factory leccy roof) with a view to using it as a daily. It hasn't happened, mainly through reliability issues, but I would be twitchy about trying to get any of them in to car parks. We are local to you (Seaford) and went to Southampton to browse the dealers down there...

Re: Middle seat rotating mechanism
You may be able to Roy, but I found the whole swivel mechanism was bigger and more complex than I had imagined it to be. Still good though, and I can't imagine not having it now. We have a rear conversion in our bus and it works perfectly in that environment.

Re: Middle seat rotating mechanism
When we bought our seat-spinner, they changed the whole middle seat. They had an exchange seat made up with the right cushions, seat belts already fitted and just swapped the whole thing out in about half an hour. The seat base / runner assembly is highly modified from the stock seat and the rotatin...

Re: Advice sought on my first Bongo
We just bought our first Bongo. 2002 2.5 petrol v6 with LPG. Little bit of rust around the rear wheel arches but not bad. It's the Aero version so looks nice. A pile of service history so seemed good. Spotted a few drops of oil on our drive so got it checked out while being serviced. Looking at a £...

Re: Advice sought on my first Bongo
Difficult to judge if you've only seen the one. From your description it doesn't sound too bad, they're all getting on a bit now, so expect to spend money on whichever van you end up with. At this age, they will all need 'looking after', but it seems there are still lots of really nice vans about. F...

Re: radio wiring
Bit of an epic thread resurrection, but thought it was worth it to say a thank you to Geoff and Ian for the useful info. Swapped out my original, Jap-spec radio for a 'new' (eBay recycled!) double din yesterday. So nice to have a radio that actually picks something up! Ok, I could have figured it ou...

That's good news, and thanks for updating the thread. So many of these stories go unfinished.
Glad you're up and running again.

Re: Rear Kitchen
Same here, we have a rear kitch and, despite my paranoia about setting the headlining on fire, we have used it successfully with the tailgate closed. We usually have the side door and/or windows open and haven't suffered any major steaming up incidents either.
