Re: Bongo buying - 3 kids

Hi, This is a good thread - had my Bongo for 2 years and I currently have 2 kids - 4 & 6. They sleep happily in the roof (albeit with Bongo boards- much easier for getting to them at night). However we now have a 3rd on the way and I'm wondering of the practicalities and whether there is enough ...

Re: Ford or Volvo double din radios?

...my suspicions proved correct - with the leads in at the back of the unit it sits about 1cm proud of the dash. Further fettling might be required as the leads come out of the back of the unit exactly where the metal dash brace is - There's a couple of options available (i.e. dismantle the multiplu...

Re: Ford or Volvo double din radios?

Hi All, I am happy to report that a Volvo SC-805 stereo does indeed fit! I had to chop out the centre part of the divider in the dash and with a small amount of fettling it went straight in and without the need for a cage! Stereo with code cost me £36 off ebay, connector from a dead S40 £1.50 from t...

Re: Split header tank

Hi, I'm reading this with interest as I suspect my header tank might have a crack but other than that the system seems fine. I was wondering, considering the price of new tanks and the likely availability of good used ones if this is indeed an arising common problem whether a tank from another manaf...

Re: Rear roof lining on an AFT

Thanks, Was going to use a very sharp knife as the material itself doesnt look too hard to cut - I just have to copy the shape of the one in the front. I've plenty of expereince with those horrible little trim retainers after replacing the sliding door inner panels...! Easy does it... I was thinking...

Rear roof lining on an AFT

HI All, I want to put some extra interior lights in - I've got a couple of extra front courtesy lights I want to put on either side (for that authentic Mazda look!) so I need to cut out a hole in the roof lining half way down on each side. I've done a search but most info is on the front cab headlin...

Re: Ford or Volvo double din radios?

Hi, Good point - however the volvo stereos I'm thinking of are from the older volvos early-mid 90's which predates CANBUS - as far asI can tell they have a security code which once entered should activate the system - I'm not sure if they are coded to the original ECU tho, but this may be for later ...

Re: Ford or Volvo double din radios?

Hi,

Many thanks for that..! There's a couple of volvo radios on ebay but the local scapper also has a few volvos in I can get the wiring & measure up the apertures from. Once I know either way I'll report back.

cheers,

Steve

Ford or Volvo double din radios?

Hello all, My Blaupunkt radio has given up the ghost and will only play Radio2 at half volume. I really can't stand Steve Wright so I need to sort this -so whilst perusing A CERTAIN Internet Auction Site I came across cheap double din radios that fit in Fords and similar from Volvo.. Has anybody fit...

Re: Cracked header tanks are not so rare !!!

Hi,

Very interesting - I've often noticed a small dribble of coolant on the wing under the tank.. I was assuming it was the overflow/cap letting some out.. maybe I'll have a check around under the tank...

cheers,

Steve

Re: Abs sensor

Hi, Apparently used ones hardly ever come out easily and if they do they are likely to be trashed. In the end I just replaced the hubs with secondhand ones from Bellhill - perhaps a little overkill but I was already changing the lower wishbones anyway. Its 2 big 22mm nuts, trackrod end nuts, plus sw...

Re: Fitting Willinton Kit

Hi, Only just fitted my Willinton kit - -once the clutch cable blank is off the relay mount should go straight on, threading the cable through first - definitely remove the lower steering column shroud and then under the dash *gently* pull the threaded cable so that the two bolts are visible through...

Re: Had any rear arch work done yet?

Hiya, Mines a 97 SGL3 2.5TD - both rear arches are going and evidence of it being fillered before export - I got it 18 months ago as a new import and they looked fine. Why oh why didnt I take a magnet when looking? Front wings also a bit crusty on the seam, also has a few crusty bits on the sills an...

Re: Wheel wobble

Hi, Do you have alloys on your Bongo? I replaced my original steel rims with some mitsubishi alloys as a direct fit (from an Outlander) from some joker off ebay - turns out one was slightly bent and gave me quite a vibration. It was about 65-75 that the wobbles were at the worst. Even if you do have...

Re: Small coolant loss, is this normal?

Hi, Mine loses about this amount too - I have replaced most of the system but I found the leak was where I had replaced the original constant pressure clips with a jubilee clip - new pipes will compress a bit further after a while meaning the jubilee clip is not as tight as it should be and hence a ...
