Re: replacement wheels

I put a set of Mitsubishi Outlander 16" Alloys on mine - no spigot rings needed and perfect fit. If you are going from steels, you'll need new wheel bolts with a shim on - Toyota ones are fine.

cheers,

Re: headlights gone kaput

Hi, I had exactly this problem (dim drivers side headlight, full beam warning light glowing dimly) - turned out it was the connector in the back of the bulb had started to melt and caused a very bad connection to the bulb. I needed a new connector - old one was completely melted on the black/earth w...

Re: Pela Pump seal problem

Hi, Had a similar problem to you on saturday when attempting to replace the pas fluid on my volvo. Pela had been kicking around the garage for a while so when I came to use it I couldnt get a good seal on it.. I looked harder and I realised the little black rubber "top hat" seal/valve that...

Re: Need New Engine Supplied and Fitted in 2.0 Petrol S Reg/

Hi, Not sure if this might help and I havent done a search on the forum - but my local scrapper has just had in a ~99 Mazda 626 petrol - I think its a 2L - though I'm not sure if its the same engine as in the Bongo. Scrapyard is in Wantage but I'm happy to go along and enquire for you if it looks li...

Re: Interior rear panel refitting!! Help!

Hi All, Thanks for all the advice and for dvisors offer of some help - the problem is indeed manipulating it into the space so I can get it clipped in - I've had all the rest of the interior out so familiar with all the clips. I think its just a lot more awkward with that rear bench seat - passenger...

Re: Good Bongo Mechanic in Hungerford area?

Hi, I'm in Wantage and I use Discount Trucks - they are brill (and not too expensive) and they're based just south of Newbury (nr Wash Common) so you're closer than I am! They are also breaking a bunch of Bongo's too if you need some bits. Can't remember the number but if you google 'em it shoul dpi...

Interior rear panel refitting!! Help!

Hi All, I've taken off my rear interior panels for a waxoil[*] party and for fitting insulation, new speakers etc. The one on the drivers side was a real faff to get out but by the love of God its impossible to get back in! 2 hours last night and the air as blue as my new LED roof panel illumination...

Re: Changing rear aircon matrix

Hi, Thanks for the advice. I was worrying about the seals as they seem pretty hard to find - did you go along in person to match up the seals (can you remember what size/dimensions at all?)? I'm in no hurry so will probably get the old one off this weekend and fish out the old seal and get the dims ...

Changing rear aircon matrix

Hi All, I have a replacement rear aircon matrix to fit as the old one has a leak- In order to fit it I have to undo the aircon pipes but I'm a bit worried about checking the system for remaining pressure. The aircon doesnt work as the level is too low (despite a refill 2 months ago :( ) and when I p...

Re: Big hole in my Bongo!

Hi,

Thanks - good point - I was going to see if Discount Trucks could have a go at all my rusty bits but was going to have a waxoil "party" this weekend -maybe I'll leave it out until that works done. It might make things interesting..

Cheers

Big hole in my Bongo!

Hi all, I've just found the reason for my soggy carpets in the back - there is a big hole at the back of the N/S rear wheel arch - its on the seam where it meets the floor pan. Its right next to the seat runners and explains why my bongo smells like a big wet dog. The other side isnt looking too hot...

Rusty rear crossmember!

Hi All, I started to fit a towbar yesterday to my 96 AFT 2.5TD 2WD (ex 4wd).. After getting the bumper off I noticed that the bottom of the wing on the O/S around the vent was almost gone, there were some big crusty holes in my rear box section -- though the parts the towbar mounts to were pretty so...

Re: Bongo buying - 3 kids

..boosters... though both are of the type that have a detachable back and head brace but they are not as bulky as the 1-3yr old type seats. They stack one on top of the other on the drivers seat. However with the passengers seat right back I would be able to get one of our old bulky kiddies seats - ...
