Yes in general that's right, its not that they can't be dimmed but simply increasing the resistance / reducing the current won't work for most modern lighting systems as it does with filament bulbs.

Re: Radio and ciggy lighter fuses

In the wiring diagram you just linked the original text shows the 15A fuse as 9 and the 10A fuse is marked 4, Humm ? http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/fuse1.png http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/fuse8.png Maybe you haven't zoomed in and seeing the Japanese text which does look a bit like a 4 and a ...

Re: Radio and ciggy lighter fuses

You might have blown a fuse further up the chain i.e. the 60 Amp IG KEY fuse but its unlikely and would be fairly obvious;

Oh and yes the numbering is different, all Bongo Manual numbering is in BLACK and all Bongo Fury Factsheet numbers are in GREEN

Re: starts first pull, but white smoke....

Try one of these Image 400 Amps DC is the highest range @ £38.19 its a good price.
They are doing free postage over £10 this weekend, provided you ask for it on the order completion form.

Re: help with heaters

There are two seperate fuses one 30 Amp for the Front Heater and one 30 Amp for the rear heater, hover your mouse over the Heater and R. Heater fuses and it will show you the positions.

Re: ROOF WONT GO DOWN !!!

Have you checked the second fuse ?

There are two fuses which might stop the motors running;

The first one is middle row 4th from left, 30 amp
The second one is middle row 2nd from left, 15 Amp

If both have blown then I would want to find out why !

Re: New starter battery advice

Not sure where I read it but I'm sure I saw somewhere that I needed a starter battery with higher AH than my leisure battery Wherever you read it, its wrong! The normal starter battery is about 95Ahr and the a leisure battery can be any capacity you like, the restrictions are more to do with size a...

Re: a strange series of electrical events ?

Have you checked the top left fuse position, I say it that way as it will have moved to the willinton fuse box, that is the fuse that controls the radio and ECU power ?

Re: a strange series of electrical events ?

Regarding the "Fuse 1"(BF style) that feeds 11 different things! Including the ECU and its that which causes the flashing lights.

I will shortly be adding the complete list of which fuse feeds what on the online manual, just working out the best format to display the information in.

Re: a strange series of electrical events ?

Lots of symptoms there, I think I would start with something that could be common to all of them and that would be the battery -ve connections to the chassis.
After that there seems to be implications of more than one fault.

Re: Leisure battery ready 1.0v

Sounds very much like the L/B isn't being charged. Check out the two in-line fuses from each battery to the relay, they are often the cause of the problem - if you need to replace them first charge the L/B as otherwise you may blow it again.
