What if I used copper pipe, a pipe bender, and off-the-reel straight heater hoses in various applicable diameters?
It would not be a good idea to use copper anywhere in the cooling system.
Copper and aluminium are probably one of the worst combinations to cause
galvanic corrosion.

Re: Hook up through window?

On my cable I have fitted one of these RCD'd about 8 inches from the plug so it doesn't lie in the grass, click for details, http://cpc.farnell.com/productimages/farnell/standard/PL10474-40.jpg this means that I am not relying on any possible RCD fitted by the site owner. Also the cable itself will...

This should do the job fella, don't waste your money on the ones with the trip switch as all uk electric hook ups have to be tripped by law http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAMPING-ELECTRIC-HOOK-UP-LEAD-CABLE-10-METERS-NEW-/200307618977?pt=UK_Cables_Hookups&hash=item2ea343b4a1 This subject was discussed b...

Re: Discrepancy between odometer and sat nav

The satnav assumes you've been travelling on a flat road with no hills so it is likely to always be behind the odometer. If the satnav is looking vertically down at you travelling up a 1 in 1 hill (unlikely I know but it helps the arithmetic) it sees you travel half a mile, but looking sideways at ...

Re: V6 '99 - Digital or Analogue Odo ?

The speedo head is driven directly from the gearbox frequency sensor.
With standard wheels and tyres, f = 100 Hz = 70 KPH. (linear).

All conversions, ie. counters for odometers and digital to analog for the
speedo needle are done electronically within the speedo head.

Re: Fuel Gauge Only Reads Half Way

The published capacity of the Bongo fuel tank is 65 litres or 14.3 gallons. Approximately, 5 litres of fuel cannot be used due to the guard filter below the fuel delivery pipework. Approximately 5 litres of useable fuel are available when the fuel gauge is reading zero, or when the fuel indicator la...

Re: Is this the sound of a belt slipping?

Sounds very much like belt squeek, not necessarily belt slip.

Get a sqeeze bottle full of water and spray on the belts while
ticking over. If it stops squeeking immediately it's the belts.

Check the power steering fluid level under the drivers seat,
that also makes a squeeky noise when the reservoir level is
very low.

Re: Excess wear on driver's side tyres

Hi John Thanks for the reply, the tyres I use are 205/55's on TSR alloys and I tend to put 32 llbs both front and rear, hope I am getting this right Thanks again Serge Minimum should be 35 psi but with a side conversion I would go for: 38 psi front and 40 psi rear, perhaps more if it's fully loaded.

On a related issue - The water boils if you remove the cap from the filler tank. Does this show that the coolant is very close to boiling all the time and a reduction in pressure sets it off ?? Yes...................... But no..................But yes.........You can boil water at room temp:wink: W...

Re: Steering Wheel Shake and kick back on brake pedal

Ahhhh! Possibly need spigot rings. All wheels should be centralised on the hub spigot and not the wheel nuts. If you have oversize centre holes in the wheel it's almost impossible to centre the wheel exactly using the wheel nuts only. Some tyre fitters may balance the wheels to zero and then use a ...

Bongo Boozer, Go to Hadrian website called Perfect Panels. http://www.perfectpanels.co.uk/index_stockists.htm If you search on "Essex" you will probably find the stockist in Malden Essex. You could easily have one closer than that if you narrow it down a bit with putting in a local town. I...
