Re: Millermatic AFT, engine oils, Adrian, Bury market

and the Bury market area is such a nice place to use up the time while he works on it.
Or jump on the tram and you can be in the centre of Manchester in half an hour...

I agree with everything you've said about Adrian - sound fella.

Yes, check this. I had very similar symptoms on my old Skoda when one of the brake callipers was seizing up and not releasing fully. Brake disk was, quite literally, red hot...!

Re: coil warning light

Do you have a leisure battery? These are exactly the symptoms (except for the door light) I get when my LB goes flat as all these things are wired to it. If you have got a LB you may need to charge it from a mains charger. When it's completely flat and the relay kicks in, thereby connecting the two ...

Re: Heater fan speed

Aha, that would make sense that it's bipassed. Doesn't explain the AC function though? True - can't help you there though. Have a look at the fact sheets in the member's section, there may be something there (can't remember off hand). I know there is a fact sheet giving chapter and verse on the hea...

Re: Heater fan speed

fan speed 1,2 and 3 don't work...... fan speed 4 DOES work, Remove your resistor pack and have a close look at it. A common problem is that the heater seizes up, the resistor pack overheats and then the solder joints melt and spring off. You should be able to see if this has happened to yours. If s...

Re: Flashing Glow plug light ( but no error code)

Does the engine recharge the leisure battery or does the van need connecting up to an external supply for this to happen? Normally the engine would charge the LB and also, if you have a capervan type conversion, it would also be charged when you use the hook-up. Normally though, one of the front ba...

Re: Flashing Glow plug light ( but no error code)

Do you have a leisure battery fitted? On my Bongo the LB has been wired somehow to the glowplug light so that when the LB is flat and/or not charging (due to blown fuse or faulty relay) the glowplug light gives a steady regular on/off flashing indication.

Re: Hold button

I think I've read (on this forum) that there is a safety feature in that the hold button won't drop the gears if the revs are too high. I haven't tested this mind you..... I don't know why you would want to do away with it, I find the hold button quite useful when descending long and/or stee...

Re: Coolant Alarm

Instead of bothering with switches, can't you simply keep the permanent live connected to the L/B (hence the drive power is sourced from the L/B) and take the ISO7 (switched live) to the main ignition? If my very limited electrical knowledge understands that right, then surely the stereo still sour...

Re: All I DON'T want fo Xmas is an Aldi Radio Grrr V6

My Aldi radio was drawing 310mA. It took about a week to drain the leisure battery if I didn't use the car but it didn't, and shouldn't, affect the main battery. As you know, the batteries should be isolated from each other by a relay and only connect together when the ignition is on. Could be worth...

Re: Coolant Alarm

And don't forget to turn off the internal light if you've just nipped in the car at night to check something.....

Vince (who's battery is now on charge in the house as it was as flat as a pancake again and who will have to, yet again, re-enter all his radio presets).

Re: Coolant Alarm

I've only just spotted this thread. I've also got the Aldi Bluetooth car radio and it does drain the battery - it was draining my leisure battery in about a week if I didn't use the car. I found it was drawing 310mA. I fitted a small toggle switch just below the radio, at the left of the cubby hole,...

Re: Who is at fault with my alarm fault?

Please clarify - do you mean 0.3 amps ? 0.3 volts is fairly meaningless as it's current (amps) that drains a battery. My leisure battery became flat after a few days of not using the Bongo and I traced it to the new radio I had fitted the previous week - it was drawing nearly 0.3 amps when switched ...

Just in case it ever happens to me (or anyone else) can you tell us where the solenoid is located (or post a pic)?

Re: Mystery fuses... what are they for?

Thanks for the suggestions. I couldn't investigate further the other day as it started to rain - and didn't stop until Sunday..! Waycar8 got it - one is for the burglar alarm system and the other is for the extra motor they fitted in the driver's door. I was fooled by the fact they appeared to be wi...
