It just pushes on - angle it upwards first then start at one end and work along pushing it over the lip. It's tight but gets more flexible with use.winchman wrote:That's the sort of thing I want.

Re: Awning on the cheap
I made something similar from an old nylon windbreak. I cut a section of the fabric and sewed a channel along one edge, wide enough to slide a section of figure-of-8 through. This then clips to the gutter from inside the fabric and makes a nice tight seal. On the loose corners I attach two old tent ...

Re: Bed comfort, Storage options & TV/Radio products !
We make a washing line Scout n Guide stylee using 2 tent porch/awning poles (the sort with a thin peg or pin at one end), 5 guy lines and 4 pegs: 1) Assemble poles and attach 2 guy lines to top of one pole. 2) Ask someone to hold the pole upright while you peg out the guy lines at 90 degrees to each...

Re: Charging starter battery
Going back to the original post however, the real problem is why is there a current being drawn from the S/B sufficient to flatten it in a couple of weeks ? It would be better to measure the current being drawn and identify the circuit drawing the current, that can then be fixed and the problem rem...

Re: Charging starter battery
The Zig charger is a proper charger for that purpose, and is rated suitably, so yes that is the purpose of the switch! However just one thing which Zig unit do you have ? One of the latest versions Zig 8 & 9 may just parrallel the batteries together, rather than select an individual battery. If...

Charging starter battery
I have a question which might be a bit stoopid but I am not technically-minded in the slightest... I've been having problems with my starter battery going flat when I've not used my Bongo for a couple of weeks. I've had to call out the AA 3 times now and I'm on my 3rd new battery in 3 years. They al...

Re: 12V Vitrifrigo fridge question?
I've got the same fridge, though I think I have A1 and A2 where you have A and A1. IIRC (don't have the manual to hand), you turn it up to the maximum setting when you first switch it on, to get it to temperature. Then when it's nice and cold you turn it down to A1 or A depending on the ambient temp...

Re: Easy Camp sebring 200 question
We've got the old version of this awning (Venice) and you attach it using a pole and clamps rather than figure of 8. There are 3 poles that come with the awning: the shorter, fatter one goes through a sleeve at the top of the cowl that bridges the gap between awning and van. You then attach the slee...

These were the lights I bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002TQWC1I/r ... 51_3p_dp_1 - haven't actually used them out camping yet as got them recently, but have tried them out and they look lovely. Good quality solar panel too.vj3 wrote:where did you get solar fairy lights from?v

Re: Beautiful Interiors
I've got some groovy stuff for Boris: IKEA multi-coloured flowery cushions, a lime green fleece blanket, other lime green cutlery/utensils for the kitchen, turquoise plastic plates, owl bunting and multi-coloured solar fairy lights! He has purple cushions on the rock n roll bed so it's truly psyched...

Re: what type of gas?
I'm having trouble getting hold of Camping Gaz 901 cylinders at the moment - they're the only ones that will fit through the door of my gas locker (not even the 904 will fit). I used to get them from Go Outdoors but they haven't had any in stock since the summer. I've also tried a local gas merchant...

Re: Damp headlining / courtesy light
I've had exactly the same problem! Mine is a converted tintop though, so I wondered if water was seeping in around the bases of the two bolts that are used to lock the roof down, but this can't be the case if yours is a factory AFT as you won't have those. Mine gets wet between the courtesy light an...

Re: Big up for Martin Bird (willinton kit)
Sounds like you had fun! I like the name Brian - "he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy"! lol. LCA is a good investment, they're about £99 IIRC. It detected a tiny leak in the bleed hose on my Boris last year, which would have gone un-noticed otherwise. Hubby was v impressed with t...
