Re: Slight groaning sound driver side front, last 3m under braking ?
Here are a few photos... I do note some hammer damage on the leading edge of the wishbone close the its pointy end (drivers side offside where groan comes from), seemingly where someone some time has give it a good smack and has misshapen the leading edge seam (risting a bit there). I am not sure if...

Re: Slight groaning sound driver side front, last 3m under braking ?
Thanks for the added info Teenmal. Will check flaps easy to do that. It does seem to groan as it was today and has been a bit wet, once when I did go to garage I think for the 3rd time after rain it had quietened down so it was like I had to drive it around a bit (brake disk heating maybe dried it o...

Re: Slight groaning sound driver side front, last 3m under braking ?
Thanks for the tips there I will print that and give it to them. I imagine they probably have looked at these things they have checked it out twice since the dust covers were done, but I cannot be sure. Appreciated.

Slight groaning sound driver side front, last 3m under braking ?
This issue appears only during braking and can ony really be heard in the last 3m of braking with the window open...maybe you can hear it a bit with window closed as well.. the deeper part of the sound. It is a groan - silence - groan - silence - groan - silence sound... the frequency of which depen...

Re: Pic of my van
A very decent looking Bongo. I have always liked the older ones. Once there was a shiny silver Aero parked next to us and I had ever so slight envy at the tme due to the softer rounder looks from afar. Once I got close the rear arches were totally shot along with bubbling sills. Looked good from far...

Re: Wheel arches cost to replace
£2,400.00 !!! - if ever there was a need to reinvigorate interest in swift and early rust repair... it's that.
I have a good mind to grind them down to close to bare metal and POR 15 them irrelevant what it looks like after. Crikey.....are they replaced with solid gold ones ?

Re: Selling for parts
"Something cheap that doesn't need any work." Good luck with that one... especially in Bongo world. In saying that they are still good value compared to VW etc. I like Bongo's but I am also quite realistic.. we have had our fair share of pain and expense with ours. To get some value I thin...

Re: Rust converters, any success.
Good call on the wire brush drill bit. Found mine down the back of the drawer and ready to use in anger on that crossmember in the summer some time. With a cordless drill it'll take some of the pain out fo the job taking place of a sandpaper block - with goggles on of course.

Re: Rust converters, any success.
Yes, for the best, pick a nice dry weekend. I think the underside is the only part I did not do when we first got the van (crossmember inside grill and top bar and top of lower member was Kurust/Hammerited). I am going to make an assumption once I have POR15'd under it I won't have to think about it...

Re: Rust converters, any success.
In a oddly timed twist of fate I have this precise issue as an advisory since MOT yesterday. Some corrosion but not affecting structure so I will be doing the bottom crossmember under side with POR15 in summer sometime. Strip it back, degrease POR15 x 2 layers and hammerite top coat.

Re: Rust converters, any success.
I put some POR15 on the exhaust box... no harm in it although it does eventually come off after a year from the heat as it seems
POR15 is not designed as a high temp paint.
