Re: Regular & Premium Petrol comparison
Using Millers (together with tweaking the TPS to sort the gear change) on my 2.0 I am now easily above 30mpg on a run, I am pleasantly happy with fuel consumption for an old (relatively bomb proof mechanically) heavy vehicle.

Re: Cracked alloys? Repairable or not
If you own a BMW with run flats and 19" rims this would be a 'common' occurence for you! (I luckily don't). BMW rims are notorious for cracking etc and dependent on magnitude and location of damage alloys can be professionally repaired. Have a look on Google for a place near you for a quote, th...

Re: Figure 8 awning mounts
Given the decent fit of Fig 8 strips on the gutter of the Bongo I intend to leave mine in situ over the Summer months, it will also stop wear to paint on guttering from frequent removal and fitting (hopefully)

Re: Campervan Canopy Question
The Khyam Sun canopy arrived a week or so ago so yesterday as it was like Summer and sunny we drove the short distance to Ashsdown Forest to put it up. Quite impressed with the quality of it slides on easily into a 6mm figure of 8 attachement. Not sure how to attach the lines to the poles/awning eff...

Re: Bongo Spares in Rishworth
In any situation involving me and a tradesman no work is undertaken until at least a call and a discussion on what is needed and a price to do it has taken place. £80 for an MoT and their 'time' after paying out £2K for work from them would of been a tad disconcerting for me too. Still you now have ...

Re: help with awning fixing to Bongo?
Good post. Just bought the Kyham Sun canopy and have an Outdoor Revn awning both unused as yet (don't fancy a wet muddy cold field and there has been no sun) and realised I need another 3m of Fig of 8 to go with the fitting kit.

Re: Any Bongo Inspectors in South Wales?
Having read the post you allude to, if it is true which I have no reason to doubt, barge and pole springs to mind whilst you could suggest the HGF could happen at any time, the other issues the vehicle had at the point of sale would suggest prior knowledge.

Re: Rear seat safety
If the original seats and belts are used there should be no problems. The issues may arise where a Rock n Roll type bed has been fitted, there are many manufacturer's of these with varying standards of safety. Some appear to have been welded up in a garden shed and sold others appear to have some ba...

Re: Price Variance
For the spec I have, Aero tin top professional rear conversion 2.0 2002 with 42K miles (don't see the point of the pop tbh) dealer's are asking £10-13K, some with double+ the mileage; I would not personally pay so much, so would go for a private sale. Best option is to decide what you want engine wi...

Re: Removing Decals
In a word, well two...you can't. Well you can but you risk severely damaging the paint and also the lacquer. Not sure which decals you are trying to remove? If you must a bodyshop will do it but it will cost £££'s as it will all need re-doing. If you have to a craft knife around the edge of the deca...
