MOT and underpan question
Hi all you MOT experts out there, I had to remove the under pan from my Bongo to improve access while I was working on the engine (long story  - I'll report in due course), in doing so the front three bolts all sheared  . Now I have tried a few things and bought a variety of extraction to...

I’ve lost my head – surgeon needed
Hi to all but particularly you V6’ers. You may have noticed my post in the techie section illustrating the broken camshaft front cap from my Bongo.  Well it is now obvious that I need to replace the complete head and I have sourced a reconditioned pair from way down south. What I need now...

broken RH front camshaft cap on my V6
Hi, It's a bit of a long story as to why  but I set about removing the cam covers on my V6 to replace the seals as there was oil seeping from the near side LH cover seals. I succeeded in completing the near side =D> and started on the RH off side. removed OK and cleaned up and replaced the gas...

Re: Gonna attempt an oil change (v6)
I've done it twice now - and hope to again next weekend - and have so far re-used the same bits and not had any problems.
Apart from always dropping the nut & washer into the oil as I take them off requires a bit of fishing around in the warm oil
Good luck
regards Grahame

Re: V6 cam cover removal / re-fit
no one?
Have I asked a wrong or stupid question?
Or am I heading into virgin territory?
If so then I’ll record everything and let you know how I get on.

V6 cam cover removal / re-fit
Hi All you V6's I have oil leaking/seeping from the near-side cam cover (rocker cover). I think the breather system is blocked on that side. Any way I want to take the cover off and check it out. Repair any faults and replace the cover and probably do both sides while I'm at it. So I shall get a set...

Re: V6 Cam shaft seals & Crankshaft seal ?
I had my V6 camshaft seals done when I had the belt changed last year. 8) This was carried out by a well respected Bongo specialist but I was left rather confused. :? I still am but it is entirely my own fault that I never resolved the confusion – basically its running fine and I don’t have any prob...

Company at last?
Hi everyone My Bongo has been alone in our works car park for 6 years now – until today  There is a P reg white with blue decals sitting in the visitor’s area – has been there all morning. Is this a new Bongo employee [-o< or is one of you good folk visiting 8) – if so I would have arranged a...

Re: Contemplating buying another Bongo - Should I?
hi Jamie, Happy New Year to you & family It will be nice to see you with another Bongo again - although the Aberdeen population is always growing its good to wave to another one you know. I would have thought that as long as its a free top your kids would be delighted no matter what you add. All...

Re: Yes, another seat question again but I'm really confused
The way I did it was to fit the long rail with the existing fixing points (not tight) and use a pin punch to mark the approximate centre of the new fixing points such that it dented the metal (its pretty thin). Remove the rails. This showed up the rough/faint outline of the hole. I then used a centr...

Re: Yes, another seat question again but I'm really confused
Hi Lorraine If your Dad can re-locate the kitchen he certainly could fit the rails himself. It's not a quick job - removing seat & carpet/drilling/fitting/cutting carpet etc. - but is not technically challenging. One thing you may want to consider though - if you fit the full length of the long ...

Re: Reversing mirror & MOT
Any stories about how they get cracked? Is there a pattern which might highlight cracking risk? It happened on my last Bongo as well - both times it was late winter and I suspect the cold / frosty conditions as on both occasions it was cracked in the morning but not the evening before. Regrads Grah...

Hi,
will a cracked reversing mirror be a problem for the MOT?
