Homemade - who or what is bj4??[/quote]

Might be bj4, but he is a forum member in Japan who will source Bongos, and from this thread I guess parts, and ship to UK. His reputation is very good with this forum.

Might be worth a 'Search'

I thinks its now £30 and 3 points for an illegal plate... after forking out £90 for the small plate on my bike I finally got sick of it and fitted a legal plate
Point well made, why bother doing it?

Does the immobiliser fitter have to be a Mazda specialist? Seems like a silly question but it still needs asking.
I wouldn't have thought so, better with an alarm//immobiliser specialist.

Worth checking out the insurance companies listed on this site, mine's through Tett Hamilton, who as brokers will check with several companies, but again try the search facility, my fully comp. is less than you have been quoted for the immobiliser, but it will depend on your postcode.

good luck.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Buckle Crunch', but I think that twisting the strap 'Round and Round' may well prevent the belt from restraining the child seat in the event of a bump, please be careful.

Hi Timster Congratulations on you Bongo adoption and christening. It's worth trying the search facility, type in - Thatcham and imobiliser - that will bring up the threads, then try Google Maps, click 'Find businesses' and put in vehicle alarm fitters or something similar, then your town in the next...

The others are right, there is no 'Grey Area' these plates will be illegal on your Bongo. Regarding 'Show Only' even putting them on your vehicle on a campsite could cause a problem as the Road Traffic Act now applies to all places to which the public has access. I think this is partly to catch yoov...

Yep, I can see that (or not), no problem using fog lights in fog, that's what they're for, it's just in rain, on the motorway...

Brilliant idea to pop in red bulbs as and when, can't argue with that, I agree that you hardly ever need to use rear fog lights, the Highway Code is quite clear "Visibility less than 100m", (I think they mean mertic yards not miles) and that is quite rare. It is a right pain when the Bone ...

As always there is a fly in the ointment, I've a good idea it is illegal to fit more than 2 revesing lights. This wouldn't be a problem if you disconnect the originals, which you could then use a fog lights, then you wouldn't need your retro-fit fog light, which you could use as a reversing light. T...

Well done, 1 & 2 could be, 3, poor contact won't flatten the batery, but could let enough power through to start the vehicle when hot, but then it doesn't charge fully due to poor contact, tiny drain over night, pre-heat glo plugs, cold engine, thick oil = not quite enough oomph. Recomend keepin...

If the core plug has corroded I would expect it to do so from the inside and at the edge, so this could be your problem. Radweld or similar may get you to the garage but I certainly wouldn't want to chance driving far. The cost of recovery or a tow from a mate could well be less than taking a chance...

First thing to check is that the battery is fully charged, that noise is usualy the solenoid not having enough power to engage, if fully charged check the battery contacts. If you ever get a problem just after you have done something it is always worth looking at what you have just done. Not 100%, b...

I can see this, if you had just done someone in in the attic of your Bongo you could give the Club (not in your Bongo) Salute with a knowing wink to passing Bongos.

Obviously can't say what the salute if on a public forum.

Live long and Bongo (but not in the attic)
