Bleeding Bongos
The forum seems full of horror stories about air-locks and over-heating problems. I'm considering doing a coolent change on our 2.5 diesel bongolow and fitting new water pump, belts and stat (as per maint' recommendations) but realy wondering whether or not to bother - Bongo runs great at the mo, so...

Re: Final Arrangements
Hi,
I guessed that we would meet the Harwich crowd at the campsite in Koln on the Sunday eve. We havnt booked that one yet but was going to try the Camping Berger site that Helen posted details of. We have no objection to our mobile number going out in the packs.

Re: Trip Details
Helen & Chris Ive also tried to book the Budapest site. Had a very nice e-mail back from Jozsef the site manager explaining that all his pre-booked pitches are already full but that he may be able to fit us in depending on availability when we arrive. He did also say that if he couldnt fit us in...

Re: Trip Details

We plan to have a lazy first day in Belgium and then head off to Koln on Sunday to camp there on Sun eve, hopefully meeting up with the Harwich Bongoliers and any-one else there. Re: Trip Details
Hi We've had a look at the route proposed by Ian and the campsites and all looks good to us. We like the idea of pre-booking the campsites for evening meets so count us in. Are people planning on leaving from Calais on Saturday morning 23rd July?, 5 days travelling then gets us arriving at the rally...

Re: question about glowplug lengths?
Hi, Ive just changed the glow plugs in our 97 bongo and they were the 102mm 'long' ones. I initialy bought a set of standard length plugs (having been told they would be the right ones) and looked at fitting these but the glow plug live rail was getting too close to shorting out even with bending an...

What a difference a new set of glow-plugs makes
Just fitted some new glow-plugs, solved all our lumpy starting problems. Starts like a dream now. Fiddly but not too hard a job and managed to do it all from the drivers side without taking out the central cover. Just unplugged and removed the vacuum solenoids and that gave enough room to get the pl...

Re: Trip Details
Hi
Hope its not too late in the day but we are interested in the trip and would like to be added to the list of 'hoverers'. Need to check holiday dates and finances but it sound like a fantastic trip. Are people planning on meeting at overnight sites en route?

Re: Carrying a surfboard on top
I use Thule roof bars for my 2 boards, mine is a tin-top (bongolow) though. Find it best to stack one on-top of the other and a bit of foam pipe insulation on the bars helps keep the boards in place without having to tighten the straps too much.

Re: MAIN BEAM WIRING
I'd always use an interposing relay for spotlights. You can't guarantee what the max current the main beam wiring is designed for - but more than likely it was for 2x60W. As your spots will be 55 or 60W, you'd be pretty much doubling the current in the main beam switching and wiring. The cable acce...

Re: MAIN BEAM WIRING
(It's the Blue/White for Main, by the way)[/quote] Well ain't that a handy post, ive been meaning to wire in my new driving lights for a while and was wondering the same thing. Is it best to power them via a dedicated feed and relay using the main-beam feed as the actuation signal or can you just wh...
