Re: Looking for advice on Major structural corrosion
I believe Sale of Goods Act will only apply to vehicles bought from a dealer, not privately. I lifted this from the Money Advice Service website just now: Problems with used cars bought privately Buyer beware! Problems with used cars are the most common single reason for people contacting the Citize...

Re: Blown cylinder head gasket-sell or fix? Please help!
Ain't that the truth? I had the clutch done on my work car a few weeks ago, was the thick end of a grand.
To the op - I hope you've got away without having to replace the head/gasket, if so - well done! It looks like you may have got off lightly.

Re: Interior Heating problem
Roy,
That's a great fix, I think I've noticed our bus doing this too, I just thought they all did it.
I'll have a look at ours when I've got the glovebox out to change the radio.

Re: Newbie with coolant bleed question.
One of the first jobs I did on our V6 was to change the radiator. I must have watched the famous bleeding videos half a dozen times before three of us bled it one evening. I think we spent a paranoid three hours or so on it, before we declared ourselves happy. Bear in mind it was my first encounter ...

Re: LPG converters south of england
We used LPG Auto Conversions in Kent when the Romano system went pop on our V6. They were excellent and I'd have no issues going back there. Steve is a proper old school lpg chap; been fitting and fixing them for years and knows his stuff, he was not fazed at all by a Bongo. He replaced the LPG ECU ...

Re: Which Ukulele?
I bought these for myself and my boys last Christmas as we all wanted to learn. Great value we thought, and the 'dolphin bridge' versions are fun for the little ones and a bit cheaper. http://www.southernukulelestore.co.uk/Product/700/Makala-MK-S-Soprano-Ukulele-Aquila-Strings-Setup-Great-for-Starte...

Glenda - out of interest which Worthing Boys garage is your bus at please? I'm always looking for local 'specialist' places that I can maybe use. PM if you would rather not share publicly - thanks.

Re: Headlight refurbishment steps
It took 20 minutes each side with the drill, so goodness knows how it would have taken manually! It was really scary to start with. You just have to grit your teeth and carry on. A big sigh of relief at the end though and an absolutely superb result. Definitely a "wow" moment :) I did the...

Re: Front and rear disks and pads (anyone done recently?)
I suppose I was hoping someone who actually fitted them this year for example and was 100pct happy with them could post from where they got them as they would almost certainly fit then. I have done mine this year (or late last year) - although I can't recall the Apec part number, this old thread (l...

Re: Front and rear disks and pads (anyone done recently?)
I fitted Apec brakes to our 51 plate van, I don't know if they're any better or worse than any other pattern parts but I've used them for years and had good brake performance and life from them.

Re: V6 - Angry funnel eruptions whilst bleeding after reaching normal temp
I've rarely been a member of such a helpful forum. That sounds pretty scarey - I'm glad our V6 didn't do that mid-bleed. I'd have been tempted to take a tree-branch to it, in a John Cleese stylee. Though I did spend forever on the cold see-saw process, to the point where not that much air came out d...

Re: Lifesure breakdown vs RAC
I'd not heard of GEM - I'll keep a note of them as I don't know if Greenflag will carry on supporting us for so little! If we broke down away from home, GF would recover us anywhere I believe - I had the van recovered to Bongo garages twice without argument. On the driveway though, and they'll only ...

Re: Coolant looking a bit low
Some of the trickiness (radiators leaking, for example) is really just down to age and not necessarily unique to Bongos, Couldn't agree more :) I guess the 'trickiness' also comes from the complexity of the system and the critical bleeding process. But you're right, age comes to us all, even coolin...
