Re: rear bump stops

You could make some if your into that.
Use some D section rubber from the rear of a truck or trailer, thread thin plate through D, then drill and bolt.
Nice softer hit when it bottoms out too.

Re: Insurance claim and bongo parts - canada

The side impact down the side is the area where the rear heater is mounted, this maybe damaged so check this area carefully before other repair, if the heater is damaged it may compromise the coolant system.

Re: RPMs highway driving

Manual transmissions are lower geared than the auto box equivalent, so on 2.5 engined diesels the auto runs lower revs at a set road speed than the manual.
I had a manual and my wife had the auto🧐
Don't know about the petrols.

Re: Manual Gearbox Query

When I first got my manual boxed bongo the clutch was terrible, they do seem to be not up to the job, new master and slave kits helped, new clutch fitted later, the best quality one I could afford helped further, it did seem to work better slightly loose on the adjustment rather than where it says i...

Re: Leisure battery

There are 2 tray sizes commonly fitted that I've seen over the years, get the large one if needed, a loose or badly fitted battery will cost you when it welds itself to the underside of your bonet.

Re: temperature gauge sensor is located?

Easy to see from the driver's side.
The wire to it runs over the front of the rocker cover for the passy side.
Hope that helps.

Yep, they are usually under the front edge of the rear carpets, behind the front seats.
Most will be removed by converters, which may explain why they are rich. 🤫.

Re: Rear Quarter Repair

On the inside of the panel quite near to the damaged area are some strips of stuck on tar /foam based stuff, it's to stop the panel sounding very tinny and vibrating. watch it it burns well with acrid smoke.
The control box for the aft is also stuck on the lower rear of that panel.

Re: vacuum or fuel

Do the solenoids or solenoid click when ignition on but not started. Does throttle advance pull up throttle cable just after it has started and vac is building up, so working, or not. If it's holding vac overnight ect it should pull up throttle cable on ignition but not start. Pipe off etc or vac pu...
