New Mobile Service/Repairs Business in Inverness
I've had a few problems with fridges and other conversion type stuff in the last couple of weeks. Found a company called Caledonian Caravans & Campervans on line. Is fully mobile and will travel up to a 100 mile radius of Inverness. Does the full ish - servicing, appliances the lot. Very helpful ...

Re: Brake caliper torque settings
Thanks for all your replies.
Job done at last. Off side front brake bads were literally stuck fast on the disc and took some getting out. Only noticed because of a hot (not warm) wheel hub. No wonder I couldn't carry diesel to it!

Thanks NB.
Had a good dig around and it turned out to be a loose connection on the altenator. Thankfully something simple for a change.

Re: possible alternator problem ??
Had (sort of) similar problem this morning just prior to MOT (passed!!).
Went out and started it (first twitch of the key) to warm it up. No problem. Left it running for 10 minutes then went out, tried to switch the mirrors out/clean the windscreen - virtually nothing although still running fine ...

I'm just outside Aberlour anyway so am usually there. There's a site at Craigellachie as well and one just up past the Macallan distillery. Loads of places where you can just park up for the night around Dufftown/Grantown etc.

Re: ALLOYS AND TYRES
Hi Dave,
If you do a search on the forums there is a lot of info on this and varying thought trains and a lot of technical type stuff!
For what it's worth, I've just gone from the standard 15" alloys with different size wheels front and back to a set of 17" with 215/55/17 all round. I read about ...

Re: Air Filtert Box Spring Clips
Thanks Jaylee, will have a look tomorrow - worth a shot.
Bongo Bonkers - I'm running off the factsheet on the members pages to try and reduce the fuel consumption so am hoping that a high flow airfilter will contribute. I can see you're a biker so it's the same concept when you fit a K&N, straight ...

Re: 100,000mile Service Costs
Well got it back today after 1 week. The garage was very helpful and even phoned for info if they weren't 100% sure. All in, including fluids/filters, sundries, timing belt kit (bought by me) fitted, fitted new wheels, traced starting fault and a whole list of others - £632.35. Fitted a complete new ...

Air Filter Box Spring Clips
Hi all,
Does anyone know where to get the spring clips for the air filter box under the driver's seat. Put in a new K&N today and noticed one was missing leaving a bit of a gap on one side.
Any ideas welcome.

Re: 100,000mile Service Costs
I'm having the belt, tensioner etc all replaced. Thanks for the tips about the coolant. Will speak to them tomorrow. The guys are pretty good and usually listen if there are any oddities. Any other top tips? I like usuing this garage as they're honest, good mechanics and never try to rip you off ...

100,000mile Service Costs
Can anyone dare tell me the rough ball park cost of a 100,000mile service. My 2.5TD 4WD is in at the minute for the works and I'm waiting with bated breath for the outcome! It's being done by a non Bongo specialist garage but it's a garage that I trust and know very well. Not only that but I've just ...

Have managed to make it work by using a smaller nut to hold down the bar on the end one and then forced the bar away from touching anything. A right pain and much donation to the swear box!
