Catalytic convertor for a 2004 2lt petrol
I'm having trouble finding a catalytic convertor for my bongo. The Mazda dealership want to charge me £900+ Vat for parts alone and say it will take 4-6 weeks to get. Anyone know where I can get one so my local garage can fit it for me and I won't have to wait so long?

Re: timing belt (2 litre)
Perhaps I have unrealistic expectations of finding a local garage. I wouldn't have thought of Newbury as being near Ealing W5 (but thank you anyway). On the Bongo Friendly Garage List there are three London garages, two in south east london and one in east london. They would be a bit stressful to ...

Re: timing belt (2 litre)
Thank you so much for your replies. I guess I need to find a different garage. Does anyone know of a good garage in West London?

timing belt (2 litre)
My garage says it will take 10 hours to replace the timing belt (£40 per hour labour). This sounds like a long time? I have never used them before (my old garage closed) and I don't know if I can trust them. I live in Ealing and I have a 2lt 2004 Bongo.

Re: Electrical fault
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I've fed them back to my mechanic. I'll let you know if he finds anything.

Re: Electrical fault
Thanks for the suggestions, the earths were the first thing he checked. I've passed on what you said. He seems to have been round it with a fine toothed comb, checking and cleaning all the connections he can think of/find. There was an immobiliser fitter when it was imported. He's trying that.

Re: Electrical fault
The fault started about a year ago, but went away for 6 months. It's been back for about 4 months so I've finally put it in to be looked at. They've even had the engine out and still can't find anything. The problem doesn't happen when stationary. If driving at more than 20m/hr, you coast for a ...

Electrical fault
Whilst I'm driving, I loose all power - the engine, brakes steering and lights- but not the radio. The fault happens about every 10 minutes. My mechanic has checked all the earth wires. He can't trace the fault. Does anyone have any ideas?

Rear seat removal
I need to carry something large in my Bongo. How difficult is it to remove the seats?

Re: Broken ABS
They told me it was the pump, I think to spare me the details, but after the replies on the forum as asked them again and they said that in fact it was the ECU. They say the two things come as one.

Re: Broken ABS
The garage is called German Motor Mechanics, in Harrow, and specialise in imported cars. I have no idea if they know what they are talking about. I got them from a google search. There is a Mazda Main Dealer in West London but they were prohibitively expensive. There seems to be an absence of ...

Re: Broken ABS
I've spoken again to the garage and they say that the fault is in the ECU, not the ABS itself, but that the ABS and ECU come together - so I need to buy both. Really, its only a new ECU I need. I hope that makes sense to you because it's all a little foggy to me. I have found a company that say they ...
