Phoned AA back, and politely insisted on a flat back: "no problem", they have arranged it. Patrolman was very good, did his best, but showed me his hi-tech internet thingy with latest instructions he gets re towing. Bongo auto 4x4 clearly shown as suitable for towing up to 5 miles at less ...

Towing?

To tow, or not to tow? diesel pump solenoid failed, AA want to tow it (max 20mph), 2 miles to garage. I have heard that towing is not good on the 4x4..any advice, folks?

How did you fix it Derek - mine's going a bit dicky in damp/cold weather generally
swapped with switch from a donor vehicle!

Waiting on a new alternator from AVA, for exactly this reason, and not for the first time. I have had problems with HIDS (after-markets, admittedly) 3 times now: first was due to a duff ballast, the last 2 definitely down to alternator(s). The last alternator from AVA only lasted just over 2 years, ...

Aluminium radiator?

My 95 diesel's rad is looking a bit elderly, weeping slightly along top edge, and my regular garage has
recommended an ally radiator. Is this worth pursuing, and where would I get one?

Anyone done this?
