Re: alarm
Yep get one fitted its a no brainer really - I've had a hose leak and more recently a major rad leak in the two years ive had my year 2000 V6. As Simon says they share the same coolant system and are also knocking on a bit now. My coolant alarm saved the day when I'd not refitted the expansion tank ...

Re: Airbag warning light on
I had this problem last year and found a thread on here somewhere which suggested cleaning the contacts on the plug/socket in the loom. I gave the plug/socket a spray with contact cleaner and made and unmade he connection to clean the contacts - it's been fine ever since.

Re: Disaster! Very ill Bongo - 2 litre
Can anyone confirm if the V6 is an "interference" engine. Based on my experience I would say not. My engine has stopped twice - once from a failed tensioner and then a second time shorltly after repair from a sheared pulley bolt. Didn't appear to do any valve damage and has been driven reg...

Re: Drifting
I agree with doone's suggestion to Check tyre pressures - when I inflated to 40psi as some on here do I found we were all over the place on the motorway. That said the elevating roof is a heavy lump so would expect this could lead to a high centre of gravity which wouldnt help.

Re: Topping Up Coolant - it's all water at the moment
Sorry to hijack this thread but I've just received the bottle of Forte coolant flush I ordered on line and see it suggests that it should be added at 8% of cooling system capacity in "larger" vehicles. The bottle is only 400ml whereas the cooling system volume on the Bongo is 13.5 litres I...

Re: Double DIN
I had an xtrons td717 back in february - it went back several times for repair and I had to pay courier costs each time apart from once when the seller (apparently xtrons agent under an eBay user name) begrudgingly collected at at their own cost when I got shirty. Eventually they agreed I could retu...

Re: V6 starting problems
Thanks Mike
I have been in touch with Adrian but just waiting for a free slot as he has been really busy and so i've been trying the more simplistic / easier to get to stuff just in case. Hoping to get the van across this week.
Cheers jim

V6 starting problems
I've replaced dizzy, rotor arm, HT leads coil and igniter and my V6 still fails to start. I do get what appears to be unburnt fuel on my plugs so had assumed fuel delivery wasn't a problem. The van had cut out a few miles from home after a long journey mainly at motorway speeds. It cut out on the ap...

Re: Any good for bleeding a Bongo?
So what is the six potter non starting all about then? Mine is also a not starter.....the FIP being in another country might be the reason. It is off for overhaul in Wales. It just cut out (about 4 miles form home after a 120 mile journey from Anglesey). It started and ran, albeit very roughly with...

V6 HT lead fitting / firing order
Does anyone have a decent image or instructions on dizzy/HT lead/cylinder fitting and firing order ? I want to rule out the possibility that the RAC man may have put mine back incorrectly. I've seen the lushprojects exploded view but the way the ignition leads are shown is a little ambiguous. Any he...
