Re: Storing and using a gas bottle on its side

I've got a JAL conversion and have managed to squeeze in the smallest size Calor bottle by cutting a disc of the plywood flooring away to fit the bottle. Not only does it allow the higher bottle but it also holds it tightly in place. If you can manage a 3.9kg propane you will find it much more effec...

Re: Rear bumper

Thanks Simon, I was worried that if I got the wrong one it wouldn't fit.

Re: microwave and inverter for my bongo

With the night heater, I know that my Propex heater and I would guess others, won't run unless the voltage from the LB is above 12v. If it runs with the engine running I'd guess that is the problem. Could be that the LB is either duff or isn't charging properly. As for the microwave, unless you are ...

Rear bumper

I need to replace the rear bumper on my '98 V6 but I believe there was a change in designs around 1998 so don't want to end up with the wrong one. Does anyone know how I can tell which one I need, either visually or from chassis number?

Re: Where's my cat?

No problem Rita, from the down pipe back it was £295. A few others have paid the same. Custom built and it took two hours.

Re: Where's my cat?

Thanks guys, I wasn't worried before but I am now. I've decided to see how much it would cost to have one retro fitted at the exhaust place.

Where's my cat?

My '98 V6 developed a few exhaust leaks and had started to sound like a Spitfire, so off to MJI in Walsall for a new stainless job. The fitter called me over to discuss what I wanted and explained that there didn't seem to be a catalytic convertor where there should be one. Where it should be had a ...

Wipers gone mad!

They say things happen in threes. First the exhaust then anti roll bar bushes and now wipers, all in a week. On the way back from a trip to Wales, I used the wash wipe which was OK but wipers would not stop moving except by turning the ignition off. Being a dry day I decided to pull the fuse but whi...

Fitting Roll Bar Bushes

Do I need to support the roll bar when replacing the bushes and do I jack up the car while doing it? Is the bar under tension?
I'd guess a simple job but knowing my luck........!

Re: my V6 seems to be using a lot of fuel

I get an average of 20 mpg on petrol and have done consistently for the last four years so there is definitely something wrong with your motor. Even running on LPG I get close to this so can only imagine a leak or a very poor tuneup. I'm sure someone will be along to offer specific reasons for this....

Does anyone know if there is a K & N air filter available for the 2.5l V6?

Re: The world's gone mad!

Been using The Gas Station for nearly four years now and never had any problems. I'd guess that if they were selling contaminated gas the taxi drivers wouldn't be too happy.

Had the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the switch itself.
