Safety beeping alarm noises

Hi all The previous owner had all the beeping noises turned off as he didnt like the reversing safety. however, now I keep leaving my lights on so Im thinking of getting the mechanic to rewire them in. Is this easy to do, is there a fact sheet? Also, SHOULD I do this or is there loads of annoying on...

Manifold Gasket

Hi all So I took my Bongo to the mechanic as I had a leak in coolant system. He said he suspects leak behind injector pump and told me to get a exhaust manifold gasket. I went to try and get it along with manifold stud gasket, exhaust gasket and other bits for manifold gasket on this site but got an...

Servicing - what to buy?

Hi all Just a quick question: I am going to be buying a few bits and pieces from the Bongo Shop here like glow plugs, mason alarm, thermostat and maybe some other things for the coolant system. As I live in Ireland it is not easy to find a Bongo Friendly garage and I will probably ask a mechanic fri...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Thanks for clarifying! As you can all probably tell, I am not the best techie around by a long shot... so if I am getting the mechanic to sort out the cooling system but in a mason alarm etc, I may as well get him to service it. Can he just service it with regular oil filters etc or should I buy Bo...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Thanks for clarifying! Yeh the glow plugs do need replaced. The LCA did its job alright, because it went off after 1-2 minutes driving though I thought it was nothing really and drove it on a couple of big trips (300km or so) but then it was coming on and staying on a lot more when I started the eng...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Hi Thanks again. Ok so I have found the following items, is this what you are on about: You need to find a garage/mechanic capable of understanding the bongo cooling system is a complex beast & needs bleeding properly, then they need to find where the coolant is going, fix the problem, & get...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Hi guys Once again thanks so much for the detailed help. You are all "bongo angels" in my eyes!! Ok so could you please give me a list of things I can buy online before I take it to the mechanic. (I live in Ireland so they will have to deliver there) I know one guy who I would trust and I ...

Bongo friendly garages in Ireland?

Hi all I have recently imported a Mazda Bongo converted camper to Ireland. Im wondering where all the Irish Mazda Bongo owners are? And more importantly where can I take my Bongo to get some work done on the coolant system and thermostat? Does anyone know of any Bongo Friendly garages in Ireland? (s...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

You need to find a garage/mechanic capable of understanding the bongo cooling system is a complex beast & needs bleeding properly, then they need to find where the coolant is going, fix the problem, & get it flushed out, refilled with the correct strength coolant, (be it long life OAT or st...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Ok guys I did the dipstick test and it failed, it was pretty much bone dry when I took it out - only a small bit of fluid touching the stick, around 2-4mm or so. I have added water to it and now when I turn on the engine it does what it used to do, as in the low coolant alarm just flickers on for a ...

Re: Low coolant alarm coming on

Wow guys, thanks so much for all the info but I am a little bit lost as I am not techy at all! 1. What is "header"? My tank where the coolant goes is quite murky so I cant see the level from the outside. Do I just buy a dipstick, mark 20mm and then insert in the main place where you open t...

Re: Need new tyres.

Personally I'd use the two best 195/70's on the front (if they are rated high enough & not worn too much, to save the VC getting too much abuse by keeping the rolling diameter within @1%) then replace the two rears with a pair of 215/65 with a rating of at least 96S, preferrably more. Better to...

Re: Need new tyres.

Thanks for that. I am going to order two of those and get them fitted locally. It would have cost me an extra 30-40 euro if I bought them here in Ireland and then got them fitted aswell. Cheaper to buy in UK get them delivered here and then fitted locally.
