Re: Glencoe mountain resort

Was there two weeks ago, its great, hookup is £15, there is a bar & food available till about 9pm, new loos & showers on site for those who are hooked up. Very friendly bunch up there, bit of a weekend vibe with people chilling on the vernada after the bar closes.

Great skiing too, plenty of area ...

Re: Adding a 2nd header under the passenger seat

I wonder why the 2l petrol technique wouldn't work, bring the bleed tube back up to the degassing tank under the bonnet, then any air can be safely discharged into the tank and vented / filled as normal ? No additional hardware needed no extra joints, just extend the bleed tube itself.

Is there ...

Re: Adding a 2nd header under the passenger seat

The issue I see with the existing system is if any air in the system is not bled out (obviously not always an easy/100% reliable task) there is air in the head regardless. The problem is it really can't circulate out to the header by the nature of the ciculation design.

Fitting an additional ...

Adding a 2nd header under the passenger seat

Has anybody thought of this?

Adding a secondary header/air bleed tank under the passenger seat, seems a simple solution to the bleeding problem. Mounted at the right height onbviously so its above the engine coolant level. It could be full in use too that's not an issue just so long as its a proper ...

Re: Show us yer insides

Have a look at mine. There is storage under the bed when you remove the kick board.

I actually need quite a lot of board space! Think half the van to window height on one side ;) I generally carry all my kit around, last year it was all on the roofrack of my lupo, which may have looked a tad ...

Re: Sluggish Acceleration

Just a thought on this subject as not seen it mentioned, there "might be" an in line gauze filter where the fuel goes into the pump, its under a spring & washer when you remove the fuel line. Some do some don't. If its blocked you would get these symptoms. Ford Rangers have them (most of the time ...

Re: Rear Heater - Night heater conversion

I'll see what I can organise on that front

Yayyyy:-) Gawd but i could be tempted to have a go at fitting something. What do you think about the possibility of hot fresh water? Could that work? Presumably something with heat exchanging coils/matrix would be needed?

Note to readers: Don't try this ...

UPDATE

I can confirm it works!! A bit too well if anything

Just back from 5 days skiing in the Vosges region of France, parked up at Altitude it got down to -10 a couple of nights & I still had to leave a window or two open to let the heat out 8)

Think a thermostat of some sort would ...

Re: Rear Heater - Night heater conversion

The heater pump "sucks in" from the left hand side small pipe by the alternator into the heater & out via a pipe that feeds & tees into to the rear heater matrix "input"

Its using the original header tank which is handy, I'm using an original Rover 75 heater output pipe which has a handy bleed ...

Re: Kitchen install on rear of seats

Quite a common mod in the Landcruiser world is to fit one in the rear window aperture that folds down. Some even remove the window & refit a panel that swings out either way in & out so you can have an indoor/outdoor kitchen.

This sort of thing, called gullwings in the overlander world
