Anyone in Cornwall got a spare alternator for a V6 pls?
Bit of a long shot but is there anyone in Cornwall, preferably near St Ives who has a spare alternator for a V6 pls? There are two types it seems and I need the one with mounting points that are 180 degrees opposite each. It seems it's decided to pack up while 200 miles away from home. Going to ring...

Re: Overheating/Gurgling etc
I think using G30 was a bad idea. It's a OAT type which is not compatible with traditional glycol based antifreeze which is typically blue or green. Worst case you can get a chemical reaction where it turns into sludge. Your best bet is to drain and thoroughly flush the system, then refill with fres...

Re: Side bars
I've got some brushed stainless steel rectangular section side bars available. Very well made and a little more chunky than the other types available. I'll send you some photos via email over next day or so.

Re: Speeding alarm
It's probably an aftermarket device fitted by previous owner. The Japanese seem to love adding miles of extra wiring and gizmos to their vans .

Re: V6 cranks but doesn't start
Anything else of note like an LPG conversion? Did the problem happen suddenly? Had you been thru a big puddle? The crank position sensor is low down and quite exposed. Have you tried some Easy Start squirted direct into air filter box? If it runs a bit longer on gas, then you're probably looking a f...

Re: Bypassing the rear aircon system
Ian managed to source me the A/C blanking plugs but (at the time) they were only for the older models. In the end, I took the pipes to a local company who welded a cap to the end of the aluminium tubing to effectively make them into blanking plugs. Cost me £10 and has been completely leak free. One ...

PhotoBucket to charge $399 a year
Just spotted this which was mentioned on another forum: https://petapixel.com/2017/07/01/photob ... edded-web/

Re: Air Con Compressor
Try googling the part number (not the one below as that's from a V6 so different) as A/C compressors are often fitted to multiple vehicles.

Re: V6 starting troubles
Somewhere in here is a thread about a v6 that an experienced Bongo garage took months to track down the non starting fault in. Would be worth searching old threads and reading up on how they fixed it, in case it's relevant. From poor memory it was a year or two ago. Good luck and keep us posted. Th...

Re: Carrying skinny spare on the back door
Worth checking the size as I can't recall what year Civic I bought mine from. If you stick the tyre size into eBay, you'll get a number of matches and the one I got came on a nice yellow space-saver rim which I've still got sat in the garage somewhere.

Re: Carrying skinny spare on the back door
Bear in mind the age of the tyres. I've an idea Simon managed to get hold of a new skinny, but the originals will be 20+ years old, and all that time in the road muck under a Bongo. :? It's same tyre as fitted to Honda Civics so plenty of much younger skinny wheels and tyres available on eBay but t...

Re: Carrying skinny spare on the back door
Aye, 'twas me. Must admit I nicked the idea from former member Ron Miel and tweaked the design a bit. Will be at the Bash with wheel fitted if anyone wants to see it in action. It's a modified pair of trailer spare wheel mounting brackets which clamps round the ladder rung which is covered in a piec...

Re: CCTV for use when parked up?
Someone I know uses a 12v wireless CCTV camera fitted inside the car which he runs off the main battery. When he's at home on the driveway it connects up to his wireless network and can be monitored / recorded as required from the house. I use a dashcam and am looking at getting as USB power pack (k...
