Re: Daniel William: Legit buyer or scammer?

Thanks guys; points well taken.
I don't expect he will contact me again.
I will post the contact details he gave me when this affair is at an end, so that others are not ripped off!

Daniel William: Legit buyer or scammer?

Hi folks. Sadly we are selling our lovely, fully-equipped Bongo (brief details on the 'For Sale' page; fuller details and many photos available on request!); the intended upgrade is an Auto Sleeper Topaz. A guy called 'Daniel William' emailed me to inquire about price. I was content to take what he ...

Thanks Geoff -- much appreciated.

Now, if I can just get that rear cover off to change the bulb...

Front fog light bulbs

Hi folks. One of my original Mazda Bongo fog lights has failed, and I want to change the bulb. When I tried to remove the rear cover (held on with three star-head screws), I found that they were seized. I have applied WD40, and will try again later; if this doesn't work, I will take off the front bu...

Replacing front wings?

Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone had ever replaced the front wings on a 1st series 1995 Bongo with new parts? I was wondering about this as a possibility, in order to get rid of any rust around the front wheels. If this is impossible, has anyone replaced the front mudguards with new parts (not ol...

Re: Replacement Arches & Decals ??

Hi folks. I'm getting my rear arches replaced, and was wondering if the Mercedes Sprinter mark 1 (1995-2006) was still considered the best option? I believe from this thread that the replacement needs to be cut and widens with a spacer. What about this one, from Mazdabongo.com: http://mazdabongo.com...

Re: Possible Irish Bongo Bash

Some of the TripAdvisor reviews of Ocean View in Lahinch say that it's just a tarmac car park with toilets. Merlotman: Are there no pitches with grass, on which to put an awning? If this is the case than I think Lahinch is out! See https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g212533-d5863891-Rev...

Re: Possible Irish Bongo Bash

Hi folks. If you're thinking of Kerry there is a wonderful campsite near Cahersiveen, called Mannix Point. See http://www.campinginkerry.com/ It's run by a lovely, accommodations man called Mortimer, who couldn't do enough for us when we were there (including giving us a refund when we wanted to lea...

Re: Wiring Rearview Camera

Hi folks. Does anyone have experience of wiring in a Garmin BC30 wireless reversing camera? I've just ordered a new Garmin GPS that is compatible with this device. Here's a link to the installation manual: http://pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20150614100800/Manuals/150/150BC30CAM.PDF It sound...

Re: Engine temp rise after shut-off

Dear WIndy, That's good advice; thank you. I'm going to change the water pump and thermostat (and, of course, the coolant), with the hope that the engine will run somewhat cooler. The leak stop fluid will, therefore, be drained out as well. Yet I still wonder if it is problematic for a Bongo engine ...

Re: Engine temp rise after shut-off

Hi folks. The replacement was an aftermarket thermostat, which the mechanic claims opens at the same temperature as the old one. After reading this thread http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=39193 I'm starting to,think that an original Mazda thermostat might lower the operatin...

Evans waterless engine coolants

Hi folks. Has anyone ever used Evans waterless engine coolant in their Bongo? See http://www.evanscoolants.co.uk/multimedia/Jay-Leno's-Garage/1 I believe the engine runs at a lower temperature with this coolant. There are several variants, for classic cars, vintage cars, and modern production cars. ...
