Re: Flashing Glow Plug Light

It is 2 codes, P1228 = "Wastegate Failed To Open Under Pressure". Same code as I have on mine. Discount trucks seems to think, that the turbo might be the cause of the problem...? Same codes as mine. Mine's only after a slog uphill. If I take it steady, it doesn't happen. Not got to the b...

Re: Flashing Glow Plug Light

This is for the Engine Diagnostics Glow Plug flashes, not the transmission when the Hold light flashes. Just to say, when I put the shorts in on the diag connector (Can't remember which ones off the top of my head), my 2001 diesel glowplug light then flashes out the sequence, not a lamp/LED on the ...

Re: Screen suckers are rubbish

I've found that some of mine are sort of turning inside out, over time. I contacted the place I bought them from, who sent some new suckers, but these are just as naff. As Simon says, sun visor and stuff on dash for the windscreen, but the side windows and boot window are a PITA. Cheers, Dave.

Re: 2l petrol - cam belt/tensioner broken & Hampshire garag

Master Tech are great and reasonably priced for servicing and I use them for this and MOTs. Very friendly and have a courtesy car. Also close to the station/buses to get home/work if not! They couldn't find the problem with my electrical issues though.

Re: CUSTOM CAR MATS

Hi Regarding the piece by the door, I haven't seen any car mat company make them with that.... Helen This lot do. Can't comment on quality, as I don't have them, but just happened to see on eBay. There's a version for both rear seat types. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Mats-in-Anthracite-to-fit-Maz...

Re: Alternative to BMW clock?

In my Freda and my Eunos, I used the clock assembly from a 90's Mazda 626. The photo below is from someone elses Bongo, but it shows how well they fit and they also are coloured matched to the dial illuminations. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g29/eddiesolo/DSCF1766.jpg There are a couple of typ...

Re: Error codes - 2002 2.5l Turbo Diesel

Dear Gurus I have a 2002 Bongo that I drive most days. On a long journey recently the glow plug started flashing & my Bongo garage tells me that the error codes are P0400 & P1228. They are suggesting that the turbo itself might be the problem (although they say this is uncommon in vans that...

Re: Hello - About to take the Conversion Plunge!!

Of course it depends on how many of you there are, how long you're planning on going away for, and in one place or touring, but we did a lot of research and deliberating before taking the Bongo plunge, and went for a removable rear kitchen. This means we can have the 8 seater minibus when needed, ta...

Re: ATF metal pipes part number pls

I had a similar pinhole leak but different location. I temporarily fixed it with chemical metal after a severe degreasing. I sourced a replacement pipe from a breaker but never got round to fitting it. The repair is holding fine...... cheers, Dave.

Super explanation Dodgey, thanks.

Now, without finding some mud or ice, how do I check if I have an LSD? Which serial number do I put into which website?

Cheers.

Beefy Bongo

Has anyone gone the other way from lowering suspension/low profile alloys, and raised it and/or fitted chunky tyres, like some Delica owners do?

Cheers,

Dave.

Re: Wheels

Slightly off topic, but I can recommend this lot for a very reasonable alloy refurb: £20 a wheel! http://www.citypowdercoating.co.uk/ The ad does state 'for the first two months of 2013' if the offer is still on then £20 would be a very good price though. I hadibe done there at that price a couple ...
