Hi,
I worked out what the problem was!
It's actually simpler than I'd imagined. The physical mechanism that winds the window up and down was actuallyy colliding with the wire pull that connects the door handle to the lock.
I was imagining some electrical connection, but it was purely mechanical ...

Re: fitting electric window switch
ok, will do, thanks.
By the way, there were two loose looms/cables near the window switch. One fitted into the windwo switch and the other fits into something else nearby. Forgive the silly question, but what is this other one?
Thanks...

fitting electric window switch
Hi,
I've just fitted a new window switch in the drivers door. The previous one burnt out, emitting lots of smoke in the process. My wife wife was driving and called the AA who came and disconnected the old switch.
Having bought a new switch, I've plugged in the obvious cable, and the windows now ...

Re: European Breakdown Cover - 2013 update
The cover provided by Nationwide is actually Britannia Rescue.
The list of vehicles excluded includes "motorhomes" and "caravanettes". However, our Bongo is unconverted and insured as a car etc so I think we should be fine.
The policy also states that "vehicles must be less than 7 metres long, 2.3 ...

Re: European Breakdown Cover - 2013 update
Just a quick update on what I've been able to find.
The best European breakdown cover I can find seems to be with Britannia Road Rescue. So far as I can tell, it is one of the very few that covers older vehicles and large sized ones.
The best way to get the cover seems to be to get it as part of a ...

Re: European Breakdown Cover - 2013 update
Hi,
I'm also on the look-out for reasonable European breakdown cover. Tricky, as the Bongo is now over 15 years old, ruling out a lot of policies.
As I understand it, the Axa cover isn't an option, as the Bongo is too tall.
Has anyone got direct experience of / views on Drive 24-7 ? They look like ...

Re: european breakdown cover.
Just trying to find the best breakdown cover for a 2 week trip to France.
Vehicle Rescue Direct looked a very good price (just over £30), but they have a height limit of 2m.
Quoteline Direct seem like the best option. Annual cover in UK (with 60 days in Europe) for £59. But an age limit of 16 years ...

Re: how do you bath yours
Thanks for the tip rethe water "overheating" - I'll watch out for that.
Re putting the solar shower in the house, I don't think I'll need to. I think our son is actually going to just move into the Bongo now we;ve got it. When he's really well behaved we let him have his lunch in there for a ...

Re: how do you bath yours
Yes, those plastic trugs are great. We took one for bathing our 1 yr old when we went (tent) camping, and he loved it. The only downside was that he liked it so much we had to put it in the bath at home for him too!
Something else I'm going to try is a "solar powered shower" I bought for a couple ...
