Re: 2l petrol - cam belt/tensioner broken & Hampshire garag

BTW - have you got any further details please for KServices as that link doesn't seem to work? It's always handy to have someone in our region who knows is way around a Bongo. Try the link again, the site was a bit dodgy yesterday .... http://www.kservices.co.uk/index.html Garage Address: K SERVICE...

Re: 2l petrol - cam belt/tensioner broken & Hampshire garage

Well, it seems the cam belt itself had broken, nothing to do with the tensioner. Keith from Kservices certainly knows his way around a Bongo (and has the workshop manuals). He got a new belt on this morning and all seems well. So it seems the 2.0l petrol engine doesn't self-destruct if the cam belt ...

Re: Paul Furze - Bongo mechanic - update

Further update .... Paul's mobile number now pops up associated with this outfit: http://www.kservices.co.uk/index.html "We are renowned as Mazda specialists, even dealing with import vehicles such as the Mazda Bongo ." I might see if he fancies sorting our busted cambelt tensioner ... Che...

Here are some pictures of our rear conversion: http://mazdabongo.wikispaces.com/Conversions+-+Rear+Conversions It was done by K2 Campers who Adam was involved with for a while (I believe). Down sides: - as we kept the middle seats facing forward for the children, we have to fold them and climb to re...

Re: 2l petrol - cam belt/tensioner broken & Hampshire garag

If you mean Master Tech Autos, I've not used them myself but they do all the work for Southern Bongos and there are always 2 or 3 in the workshop when I drive last every week. When did you last have the cambelt and tensioner changed? Cam belt supposedly new when we bought the bongo 3 years ago. No ...

2l petrol - cam belt/tensioner broken & Hampshire garages?

Hi, Our 2l petrol bongo came to a halt today - recovery guy suspects the cam belt tensioner has gone as the belt was intact but loose on pulley. I've read that the 2l engine might just survive such things - I certainly hope that's the case (I'm after some reassurance here guys)! Is investigating and...

Re: JAL - Superwide bed Spaceship conversions - pros & cons?

Hi,

We have the skylift roof.
We can't store much up in the roof at all - even a spread out sleeping bag (3 season) is too much on top of the mattress...
(I think we might have managed to put the silver screens up there)

Nice simple roof mechanism though!

Re: Mid fit or side fit camper with baby and 6 year old?

With seat belts in mind we went for a rear conversion (the pictures are of our "Bluebell"): Rear Conversion This keeps our 9 & 4 year old on the original middle bench seat with the factory fitted seat belts. There may be other options on this thread: Show us yer insides No to ISOFIX as...

Re: running 12v fridge off the mains

Depending on how your conversion was done there may be a battery charger/12V power supply already fitted.
If so, when you're on a mains hook up, this will provide 12V for your fridge.

Re: Sky Lift Roof - anyone got one?

We have the Skylift with the plastic panel. An air vent is fitted on the top too. We get some condensation on the inside of the plastic panel and tent material. But probably no more than you would if you slept 2 adults and 2 children in any car over night. I'd still have liked the option of opening ...

Re: Silly me...zig units I think?

Depending on the Zig unit, this might help:
http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/view ... 48&t=61483

Or these manuals:
http://www.g8dhe.net/bongo_images/zig/

Or a quick call to 321 Away?
0118 932 8232 (open until 5.00pm)

Good luck!
