Re: Rear fog tell tale light

Thanks Bongolia. The switch is a full frontal push rather than a rocker so I will not be able to use tip-pex or similar to show that it is in but thanks to your info, a bulb will be installed below it. I will have a closer look at the regs as they didn't fail me on the front tell-tale light which I ...

Rear fog tell tale light

Hi, out Bongo failed its MOT as the tell tale light for the rear fog light wasn't working. I've no idea when it stopped - it may not have been working for some time and I really can't remember if it ever came on - I habitually turn it off as soon as the conditions clear or I park. The rear fog light...

Re: Removable kitchen unit

We have a removable kitchen unit that takes the place of the nearside rear seat. We use the front and middle seats to sleep on. We keep the offside seat in place if we need to transport 6 people but if not, we remove it and have more space to move around in the rear. If your rear seats are not split...

Re: Campsite maps - help wanted from campers using google ma

Thanks. I've done that - just want to see if he / she is happy for me to add my maps using KML export / import. I have not done that before but if it works, it might make it faster for others to share their camp site locations etc.

Re: Campsite maps - help wanted from campers using google ma

Thanks. I'll get in touch with them to see if I can add the ones on my version to theirs. I wonder if we can get some more contributions for UK camp sites.

Campsite maps - help wanted from campers using google maps

I am putting together a map of some of the campsites that we have used this year - locating them on Google Maps. I wonder if it would help other Bongoliers that want to plan their trips. If you have sites that you could add, please PM me your email address so that I can add you as a collaborator and...

Re: Bongo overheating when running air conditioning

Am I right in thinking that the Mason alarm setting determines the temperature at which the alarm is set off and doesn't determine how responsive the gauge is? I believe that the mason alarm makes the temp gauge more responsive. The dial adjusts when the alarm goes off.

Re: Bongo overheating when running air conditioning

Thanks guys. I'll look for widdowson2008's post.

The Mason alarm is set to 5. I get lots of squeaks when the temp gets towards high - I have not let it get to the continuous beep.

Re: Bongo overheating when running air conditioning

the mason modified gauge should read just before the hot line, (just at the ar*e twitching point) The gauge has not got to the hot line - but, as you so correctly identified, it has got to the ar*e twitching point several times. It has never got to this stage before although I had thought we had do...

Re: Bongo overheating when running air conditioning

Thanks. I have turned the heaters on as I did not want the temp gauge to read so high for long. If I have a mason alarm, how far can I let the temp gauge go? I have not let it go to max but it is not far off. It does not seem to go further than a few degrees off max but it is a long way off normal. ...

Re: Bongo overheating when running air conditioning

I have a similar problem. I'm in France where it is regularly 35oC or so. When driving along the flat with the A/C on, all is generally OK. When going up hill, the mason adjusted temp gauge shoots up to just a few degrees less than max. The only way I can cool it when I am travelling is to turn the ...

Re: 35mpg - can't be right...?

We had had 35 mpg from our fully laden + kitchen 2wd aft when driving at 56 mph on French motorways :). We have also only managed 18 mpg when driving at 80 mph :( Strange that, we also got our best mpg on a French motorway. Can only put it down to the fact didn't stop for about 180 miles and you ca...
