Re: European Road Trip - Gas

A 907 will easily last 3 months just for the hob. If you are going over by Eurotunnel you are not allowed to carry loose gas bottles that don't fit into the gas locker.

Re: Non-plastic Fresh Water Tank

The reason on-board water containers are black is to block out light as most nasties in stagnant water need light to live and thrive. I and most other Bongo / Motorhome owners drink the water from the other on-board tanks as this is a frequent discussion on various forums, and when a poll is carried...

Re: Non-plastic Fresh Water Tank

Why would you not be comfortable drinking from a food grade plastic tank which is used by all other camper van and motorhome owners? I have never heard of a stainless steel tank, you could have one made but it would be expensive.

Re: Newby - Need 3 x 3point belted seats in rear...

You might try Imperial Car Company in Poole. Very nice conversions which usually leave the standard rear seat in place. This normally has two 3 point and one lap strap but I would guess you're not the first to ask them for a third 3 point. They also flatten the upholstery in the seat so that it's mo...

Re: Leisure battery or starter battery?

As stated above the advice you were given was wrong. A second starter battery is absolutely pointless in this country because one battery is perfectly up to the job. The second battery was an addition in Japan for Bongo's from the North to help with starting where it is much colder than the UK. For ...

Re: best layout to make room for a portapotty????

I honestly can't imagine why anyone would want to do that inside the small confines of a Bongo. At least in a motorhome you have a door and ventilation and an extractor fan. Wouldn't it be just as easy to have a toilet tent outside the van?

Re: Switching to Leisure Battery

Or leave the key in the ignition overnight with it switched to the first position. As long as it's only for a few days the blinds alone won't drain your battery. To raise and lower the roof you need to have the engine running anyway so do it before you switch the engine off when you arrive on a camp...

Re: How to Diagnose Aircon issues

First of all, as nobody appears to have mentioned it, you need to use your aircon at least once every couple of weeks all year round otherwise the seals in the compressor dry out and you then start to allow moisture into the system which causes corrosion and eventually leaks. It sounds like you have...

Well perhaps you could actually have been helpful by repeating the search and choosing one that wasn't out of stock by the time you got to it like; http://www.amazon.co.uk/100A-Blue-Pacific-Male-Slow/dp/B00A0IC3N4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1427451260&sr=1-1&keywords=100A+...

Re: Leisure Battery and Solar Panel

I have decided against a mains hook up for now as I will normally only be away for a couple of nights and hope that the leisure battery and solar panel suffices. For a couple of nights you don't even need the solar panel. With a 110Ah leisure battery we can go for a weekend (two nights) and we also...

Yes they do creep forward from a standstill I've now got used to knocking it into neutral And I now drop it down manually as slowing down ( with the hold button and then going into 2 and 1 gear manually with stick ) Think it's better for the torque converta or something to go into neutral at stands...

I think you'll find it will be cheaper in Eurocarparts, even allowing for your Halfrauds trade card :)

Re: K & N Filter

As you suggest, it's tried & tested solution. I've worked on lots of small engines as fitted to mowers, strimmers, generators, etc & they all use oiled foam filters which can easily be cleaned with petrol. They do a good job of keeping dust, grit, pollen etc out of the engine. It is a tried...
