Re: internet on the go (again!)

Take a look at dataroam.co.uk, I think their SIM equates to about 4p per MB in Europe... £39 for 1GB. Also, if you are going abroad, and are a bit more technical, take a look at http://prepaidwithdata.wikia.com/ They keep an eye on the best PAYG sims in each country which you can use to get cheap lo...

Re: increasing passengers seats with rock and roll - newbie

Take a look at Scotseats. Not sure if the dimensions fit, but they do a bed seat which fits on the Unwin Tracking system and is crash tested with 3-point seatbelts: http://www.scotseats.co.uk/bedseats.htm I've got a single seat from them on the Unwin tracking clamps Winchman describes, which I put i...

Re: Disaster! Very ill Bongo - 2 litre

I had the same thing on my 2.0l, and had it recovered to Wheelquick. Just needed a new cambelt, and I was back on the road within an hour. They said that there was no contact with the pistons, so did not cause the carnage normally associated with this type of failure. Hope you have the same outcome!...

Re: seat for rock and roll

We had exactly the same issue, and could not find a suitable solution anywhere on the internet. In the end I had Unwin tracking (http://www.unwin-safety.com/) professionally fitted behind the passenger seat. I then ordered a single seat with an Isofix mounting point supplied by Scot Seats (http://ww...

Re: Show us yer insides

Coach seats can be fitted as they have the top mount built in to them, some one on here bought one from me so they could add and remove a seat to carry a Baby seat safely. That would be me, although I have put it off until I can find a local firm who are certified Unwin fitters. In principle, corre...

Floorpan anchor points

Hi My Bongo was converted by JAL, however, due to a change in circumstances I am investigate the possibility of temporarily installing a single passenger seat in the back where the middle row would be. Allowing me to keep the rock and roll bed behind for when needed as a camper. As i cannot see wher...

Re: Playing laptop sound through Bongo speakers

We've had reasonable success with one of these: http://keene.co.uk/electronic/keene-electronics/usb-fm-transmitter/USBFMT.html Just tune your stereo radio out to static, and set the simple software to the same FM frequency. We did swap for a stereo with an 'Aux In' in the end though, one of these in...

Re: 3G Internet in France

No idea I am afraid. Although I know you can trim down a normal SIM to work as a Micro SIM. http://www.techradar.com/news/computing/apple/how-to-make-your-own-ipad-or-iphone-4-micro-sim-681020 Alternatively, If you have a smartphone that lets you create a personal wifi hotspot (e.g. Android), then y...

Yep,

I saw loads as well!

Although Bisto was alone in a sea of VW's where we were in E25!

Had a mint time, made all the better by some nice weather proof accomodation, and a fridge that was still providing cold beers on the Sunday night... :D :D

Re: Fridge Help urgently needed..

I'm pretty sure we had the same thing with our CF9 Zig Unit, but it seemed to fix itself so I did not investigate further. Symptoms were similar, from memory: 12v off / leisure battery / mains off (up) / charger -towing (up) = working fridge 12v off or on / leisure battery / mains on (down) / charge...

3G Internet in France

Not sure if this will be of use to anyone, but if you can't bare to be away from the internet for too long, like me, I found a handy tip. You can pick up an Orange PAYG SIM called Mobicarte in France from Orange shops. You can then activate unlimited Internet access for 1 month for 9 Euros. We found...

Re: Ignition Key Transponder

Well, Went to another independent cobblers, and he sorted me out first time. It was one of the shelf, but he extended the key, by removing some of the plastic at the end to get more metal, if that makes sense? Anyway, works a treat for opening the doors and starting the ignition, so the world is rig...

Re: Ignition Key Transponder

Hi dvisor, Looks like I have the same problem, I did order off ebay, what looked like a perfect blank, only for the local cobblers to say much the same as you have detailed. My local motor factor tried with a standard off the shelf key, to no avail! To be honest, for now I would be happy to have 2 s...

Thanks for clearing it up for me, I did suggest that Japanese imports may not follow the same rule...
