Re: Storage boxes

Couldn't resist buying a couple of the 62 litre boxes. My wife suspects that I must be working on a post-...

Re: Safe heating for a Bongo when wild camping Is it Possible?

Eberspacher or Webasto diesel heater every time for me . They are a proven heater and are fitted to HGV's and at one time, even GPO vans! Make sure that you get a remote temp sensor ( placed in the middle of the van ) along with the timer controller (eg - set to come on 20 mins before you arrive bac...

Storage boxes

Best tip of the year from 'vanvliet ' - trust me. Forget all of the flimsy or ridiculously expensive storage boxes you have previously come across and instead buy these fantastic indestructible boxes made by a British company called 'Wham Bam'. You can stand on these blighters and they will not brea...

Re: Leisure Battery - unconverted Bongo

I have one installed in my cable as in my opinion its the most likely part to be damaged and its my property and hence I am responsible, and I can't vouch for the one installed in the EHU post. I also selected an RCD with a more sensitive trip current the the standard is 30mA the one I have is 10mA...

Re: Leisure Battery - unconverted Bongo

Yes if you connect the incoming Earth to a suitable point on the chassis, direct from the block not via a socket, then that makes a substantial improvement. However it does also mean opening up the block and running an earth wire back out, keep the length of earth wire as short as possible and make...

The reason that this raises problems is that if a fault does develop it will be to the chassis of the vehicle, which is raised up and insulated from earth by 4 rubber wheels. In a tent any fault wi...

[quote="Bob"]You only need to have the window open about 1/2", no problem in summer, or just put it in through the rear door and close gently on to the first latch. I had one of these camping circuit breaker units (single socket) fitted in the passenger footwell on a small wood...

Re: Rear vs side conversion -storage space?

Waeco used to have an optional 'slide out' base system for their fridges which was used on the rear of Landrovers. It is/was pricey but it could offer ideas for a DIY version . . . . . . . . the Australians love 'em http://www.drifta.com.au/toyota-200-series-storage-drawer-package/ There is some inf...
