you will have to lubricate the shafts on the assisters in order to reduce this particular noise
Thanks very much for the advice. Silicon grease and WD40 (for the inaccessible parts) has reduced it a lot but not completely. Would you mind describing exactly what part you mean by the assister ...

How to stop judder when raising roof?
During the last few seconds of the roof lifting process we get an increasingly loud juddering noise, I'm presuming from the hydraulic arms. Can anyone advise how I might go about stopping this? It rather annoying for our campsite neighbors late at night or early morn. Lubing something somewhere?

Re: Non standard alloys causing wheel vibration?
wonkabody suggested spigot rings earlier - also, 630 kg is a bit light when the rear tyres are a minimum of 710kg each :?
Mmmmm, so I guess they just stuck on a set of car wheels they liked the look of. Just what I thought. I shall have a look for something more suitable. What weight rating is ...

Re: Non standard alloys causing wheel vibration?
I don't think spigot rings are needed in this case, the wheels seemed to sit quite well.
I was hoping the tyre guy would have some database or guide to be able to check if the wheels were right for the van, but he did not, was more of a "she'll be right" type. Very NZ

Re: Non standard alloys causing wheel vibration?
So the tyre guy had a shufty and found both front wheels out of balance, one badly so. All four tyres passed inspection :D and apparently the weight stamp for the alloys was found on the back (630kg). Even the air pressures were way out - the garage pump I checked them with must have been duff. So ...

Re: Non standard alloys causing wheel vibration?
Thanks for the feedback, *much* appreciated. Very useful.
I think next step I will try and get a *good* tyre specialist to check over the wheels, then balance them carefully if they think they are suitable for the van. If that works then I will decide on new tyres. Am thinking something a little ...

Non standard alloys causing wheel vibration?
Hi to all, nice site & forum!
This is my first post, I picked up my first Bongo last week. A couple of friends have them and highly recommended, and so far its all good, including the 1500km drive to get home from Devonport, Auckland to Dunedin, NZ.
A few minor niggles to sort out though ...
