Weird as the turbo is fine when its cold, and in fact did 100 miles yesterday with no issues at all.

Get my garage to take a look.

The 0400 one is EGR, I assume that's because its blanked off and is always showing a fault?

Thnaks G8 worked a charm and I got a code ... now the next weird bit, anyone seen this?

But when I short the ones in the document I do not get any change in the flashing sequence? Should the engine be on? tried on and off?

Any help to get a code would be appreciated

Now I have sorted the flashing hold I have a flashing glow plug - darn thing!

When she is hot the light starts flashing, you know its going to start as you can hear the turbo whistle and there is not much power, then about 30 seconds later light starts flashing, leave her to cool down for a few ...

Hi Colin - yes thats the one.

The cost was the solenoids and autobox fluid etc

Thanks for the replies. Problem solved by my garage. CAE in Wokingham Berks

With a little help from Dunnings (thanks to them) he was able to read the fault code, it came out as a shift solenoid, part ordered and changed and hey prosto she is better than ever!

Flashing Hold

HI All - my hold light has started flashing, initially it would go when a reset and now its on even with just the ignition. I have a Willington split charge but seems to be working.

Any ideas how I can check its not the split charge 100% I have disconnected the positive to the leisure battery only ...

not seen the broken plug yet - he is my best mate so I trust him not to do unnecessary work but he is not a Bongo specialist.

Update from my mechanic.

The end of one of the glow plugs has broken off and fallen in the engine. He changed the plugs and now she starts and run lovely - but still the clicking :(
He thinks either the piston is slapping or the part damaged the tappet

Anyone head of this happening?

It does seem to go with a touch of the throttle yes, it also seems to get better when warmed up totally. I do wait for the glow light to go out and she starts lovely, just runs rough like it is going to cut for the first 30 sec to a min - then ticks over perfectly.

Still have this rough running on initial cold start to solve, having a few issues at the moment, at the fork int he road as to spend or sell ;(

Do a search on Google for 'big end knock' and it returns lots of info (mainly for cars like Alfas) but the symptoms are all much the same. Good place to start is to do an oil and filter change and check for lots of metal particles. You may need to drop the sump and have a closer look. Never tried ...
