We have the same at work with our trucks if the fitter fits cheap parts they fail again all to quickly if we use daf parts they cost more but last that much longer in the long run it works out cheaper. And driving around in a 5...

Gear change
Seem to have developed a slight issue with the gear box if I set off steady all is well gears change as they should. If I boot it the gears do not change up rev counter goes up to 3000 rpm and then it's like it hits a rev limiter. Transmission oil level is ok. Any ideas what to check before I go out...

Re: head panic
If need be you can tow the van but first you will need to disconnect the prop shafts from the gear box.
Always handy to know in desperate times. every time we tow a hgv the prop is always unbolted so the gear box is not being driven.

Another way to prime the fuel system is to use a pela pump or another vacuum pump to draw the fuel through.

Re: Could I run these appliances from an inverter?
I run a 150 watt inverter in my truck 24volt though some guys go up to 1500 watts off 24 volts to run microwaves but still need the engine running to keep the batteries topped up.

The other thing is not sure what size inverter you would need but a decent 1500 watt one is around £300
