Re: Diesel Pump Problem

Cant take the credit for this as Ady (Northern Bongolow) told me, but on the top of the diesel pump is a round diaphragm chamber which has a piston in it. This over time accumulates dirt and muck and the advance may become stuck on. Just dismantle and clean out then reassemble, also make sure the pi...

Re: Battery drain

Hopefully that will sort it. My van just stood for 8 weeks with the alarm and immobiliser on and fired 1st time. Before I separated my radio it was flat if I left it over a week.

Re: Battery drain

Does the radio go fully off when the keys are taken out? I re-wired mine so it went completely off when ign was off. Seemed to fix my probs, I also have. Leisure battery setup. My alarm and immobiliser are the only other guilty party and they come from the starter battery and use very little current.

Re: Still smokey, but cold start always on

Hi Ady, had a quick look at the top diaphragm tonight and it had oil in it, gave it a clean out and restarted the bongo, and now no more smoke. I will check the vacuum solo lids out later tomorrow but hopefully that has solved it.ingers crossed.

Hi Ady, ok I'll have a look at the top diaphragm, the rest of the pipes I've replaced ,not quite sure about the 1st paragraph but it will probably become clear when I look at the weekend.
Cheers again Ady

Still smokey, but cold start always on

Hi all, well I insured the bongo this weekend and took it for a spin round the village. Great fun and no smoke, lovely I think. On Friday I decided to take the dogs to the kennels in the bongo and at the end of the road I noticed loads of smoke. This continued all the way to the kennels. When I rest...

Yeah I had fun doing it as well, but at a time where we need 2 economical cars, youngster at uni and elderly parents. As you say may be just stuck cold running solonoid. I'll have a quick check of that this weekend.

smokey....and not in a good way

Hi all, so after a week of sitting there I decide to start the bongo to go to b&q as you do. Starts first times as normal but we have clouds of smoke from the exhaust, this doesn't appear to be a glow plug issue as she starts first time, it appears to me to be oil smoke, bluey to look at. Anyway...
