Thanks for all the advice, I have started to drive a bit less agresive although I am not too bad and I will keep on top of the oil changes etc so hopefully it should all help

i filled up the bongo today for the first time since I changed the lambda sensor and it worked out that it had done 15.25 mpg so thats a slight improvement on the original mpg the next thing i am going to do is change the oil and filter because i haven't done that for a couple of years

Not a problem simon i use the bongo to go to work every other week so I will be using it next week and hopefully i will be able to let you know how it is doing soon
I need to use the full tank before I fill up again because it's got the 44k in it

First impressions are that it has worked but I haven't used my bongo this week so it will be a while before I am totally sure

It unscrewed really easy, I thought it was going to be a bit of a pain but it wasn't ☺

Well I have fitted the lambda sensor today which was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be and first impressions are that the strong smell of petrol when I start the engine is not present so hopefully this was what was making my mpg so bad
I will not know for sure until I have used a tank ...

Thanks Simon that will be good if you could find the details, if i can get one for £40 I might as well change it.

I have changed the air filter today and put in the BG44K so i will see how that works, it might be a few weeks before I will be able to check the mpg as I don't do too many miles each week also when I changed the filter it looked pretty good considering I have never changed it before
does anyone ...

Thanks for the advice I have bought a new air filter today and I have ordered a can of bg44k and the millers fuel additive so hopefully that will help bring it a bit closer to where it should be, also a friend mentioned that he thought it might be the lambda sensor has anyone ever had to change ...

Thanks for all the replies so at least I now know that I have a problem, i will start by changing the air filter as I have never done that, to be honest I have been pretty lazy with stuff like that since I have had my bongo but I had already decided to spend a bit more time and money on it this year ...

I have hadmy v6 bongo for 5 years now and it has always seemed a bit thirsty but i thought that it was because it was a v6 but the lsst 3 years it has struggled to get through the mot because of emissions, i have had a new cat fitted and that has not helped much so i have worked out my mpg and it ...
