auto gearbox dimensions and weight.

Hi all,

Does anyone know the dimensions and weight of an auto box for a 2.5 td (roughly) I'm trying to get shipping quotes and I need to get these specs. Alternatively if anyone has a box kicking around I'll take it!

cheers in advance

Re: 2wd autobox on a 4wd

Thanks all for replies.

I will endevour to get a 4wd box and have it fitted at Dunnings. I have to admit once the work is done I'm probably going to sell the camper as I cant really afford the running costs of 20 to the gallon! Shame really as I do love the thing!! (apart from gearbox fault)

Re: 2wd autobox on a 4wd

Cool, So could anyone point me in the direction of how to go about this? Is it a simple as replacing the box or are silly things like multi-plugs (if there are any) different. Do I just remove the drive for the front wheels? I really have no concern about whether the vehicle is 2wd or 4wd. I just ...

2wd autobox on a 4wd

I think its clear to see that I am no mechanic! Is this a daft question.

Could I put a 2wd gearbox on my N-reg 4wd auto friendee?

There seems to be quite a few on ebay and they are a fraction of the price of a 'rare as rocking horse s@#t' 4wd autobox.

Any advice would be much appreciated ...

Automatic stalling still, Can anyone help PLEASE

The bongo stalls but only when cold. It can be best described as driving a manual without using the clutch when you are supposed to ...

Re: Judder, judder stall.

I was under the impression the magnet in the bottom of a sump pan would be like a 'furry beard' but not super excessive? I cant help but feel the problem is being confused with something completely different. My bongo doesnt stalll quietly so to speak, its a rather aggresive stall; like the vehicle ...

Re: Judder, judder stall.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I sympathise you have had this problem, but on the other hand for me its nice to read someone else has this fault, for a while I thought I was going mad!! I've actually used the vehicle for a year now with the fault and as you, no problem when engine slightly warmed up. I ...

Re: Judder, judder stall.

Hi, Bit of an old post I know, but would you mind sharnig the cost of repair? I have the exact same problem, put up with it for about a year now, I allways just waited till the engine was warm before going anywhere. Dunnings (near where I live) have siad they wouldnt mess about, it would be a ...

' if i engauge the drive forward or reverse, when applying slightly to much trottle the bongo stalls quite violently. '
