Re: Front fan fault

So I've checked all the fuses, no joy, all in working order but still no fans at all. Simon jones mentioned applying 12v directly to the motor to ensure that is working correctly? Any instructions on how to do this?!!! Like I said, I hate electrics!!!

Re: Front fan fault

I haven't checked any fuses as don't know which one to check, all my searching on the forum told me was that the fuses were actually the solder in the resistor?!

Re: Front fan fault

Am I right in thinking that even if the resistor has blown it still offers full blast as a by-pass/fail safe?

Front fan fault

Evening all, I've been having a few problems with my digital front fans. A couple of months ago during heavy rain I got an electrical burning smell, and after this my fans would only work on full blast. After searching the forum, I replaced the resistor, problem solved. A few weeks later after ...

Re: Random electric windows problem.

Haha Weeduggy, I am one of those aircraft techies, hence why I'm away so much and hardly have time to put anything of my own right!!! Have you got the digital style a/c or the twisty knobs?!

Random electric windows problem.

Here's one to get your brains ticking over on a Sunday afternoon. Hopped into the bongo yesterday to head over to the Forest of Dean for a day out with the family, attempted to open the windows with the drivers side switch (due to no A/C, but that's another issue #-o ) and nothing happened ...

Re: Lime green leak.......

i would,nt even think about driving it , you,ve got air in the system, even if the coolent level looks ok, if you drive it, you will crack the cylinder head. long before theres even the slightest movement of the temp gauge !!!!
i know this from bitter experience.

as its still under warrenty, get ...

Re: Lime green leak.......

Yup, sounds like the seam has split, common issue, some have got away with crimping the lugs back over. It will spray as it's a pressurised coolant system, you'll probably find it's airlocked which is why the level hasn't dropped.

That seems the most likely explanation at this point. I'll give it ...

Re: Lime green leak.......

Upon further investigation, it appears the leak is coming from somewhere near the top of the radiator as there is evidence of spraying on the underside of the bonnet, whilst the rest dribbles a path down to the bottom corner of the rad. Would coolant come out of the top of the rad at enough velocity ...

Re: Lime green leak.......

It's a shame it's not something as simple as needeing to tighten the coolant drain plug. If you do have to drive 40 miles with leaking coolant, it's risky, you'll obviously need to be very careful.

I certainly will be calling them with the good news first thing in the morning! The problem only ...

Very true, I was just hoping to do a spot of fault diagnosis myself as the garage is 40 miles away and I can't get there till the weekend!
