My bongo needs some post MOT body work with both sills and rear wheel arches needing replaced, along with a couple of bits of welding.

Has anyone has a similar level of bodywork carried out recently and if so what kind of money am I looking at here?

some info before I share with my good wife would ...

Re: Auto box not changing up to 3rd

The pipes you have pictured are the fluid cooler pipes ..
You say the fluid was checked .. but has the fluid been re - checked (with the engine running) and topped up to the proper level .. because after the initial top up .. quantities of fluid have to fill the valve blocks / toque converter which ...

Re: Auto box not changing up to 3rd

The engine is a 2.5 diesel.

The pipe that was replaced was the twin gearbox oil coolant pipe, is this the one you were describing?

Auto box not changing up to 3rd

A friendly RAC man just drove my wife, my bongo and I from Blairgowrie to Edinburgh. We had been 10 miles north of Blairgowrie, heading towards Braemar and the auto box started playing up. 1st to 2nd was fine and then initially it was 4,500 - 5,000 rpm before 3rd would engage and after 5 mins 3rd ...

Re: Hemorrhaging Coolant from under Driver Seat area

You could try GBL motors Duff Street Lane in Dalry. Not used them myself, but I believe they know their bongos.

Thanks for the suggestion, I notice that there are a couple of Edinburgh garages on the database too. I'll give a few of them a call.

The first owner experienced a full blown coolant ...

Re: Hemorrhaging Coolant from under Driver Seat area

the coolant alarm came on to tell you that the coolant was low, then as you ignored it and drove home the remaining coolant got hot and expanded into the expansion tank turning the alarm off.

Hemorrhaging Coolant from under Driver Seat area

So my coolant alarm came on when I started at the supermarket and after about 30 seconds it faded and went off. Ok, might be a false alarm, drove the mile home and as I get out the Bongo I hear running water. Under the driver seat is a pretty substantial cascade of what I assume to be coolant ...

A terminal on that relay looks like a wire is missing. Bare core visible unless my eyes deceive.

I'd spotted that and plan to reconnect the spade connector to the wire - it's 50% connected rather than completely unconnected.

Re: 12v Leisure Battery Set Up - Camper Scotland Conversion

Thanks for the info, a bit of cable tracing shows me that from the battery end of things cables trace to a point above the passenger footwell and a Combi Master E11, which looks to be the relay for the split charging while driving.

12v Leisure Battery Set Up - Camper Scotland Conversion

As as the owner of a full side conversion bongo for all of 4 weeks now, I'm trying to get a better understanding of the leisure battery set up. The Camper is a Camper Scotland Conversion and is around 4/5 years old so someone on here might have a similar model.

Starting point is a Zag battery ...

Re: Leisure battery fitter - Edinburgh Area

Dave, I think my Bongo originally came from Campers Scotland so I they would at least know the current set up - I'll have to give them a call.

g8dhe, that's the type of thing I'm looking for. Thanks.

Re: who will insure me

I thought he lifesure phone service was excellent. A single call to someone who knew who he was talking about, know bongos and provided a good deal. I was even able to email scans of my NCD and driving license

Leisure battery fitter - Edinburgh Area

anyone in bongo fury land know of anyone decent near Edinburgh who could do some leisure battery system modifications and additions?

I recently bought a Bongo which had a full side conversion with a leisure battery system but it's pretty limited, has a single 12v cigarette lighter powers socket ...

Thanks for the helpful responses. I wasn't sure if people used the roof bed or just left it for their kids.
