Thanks g8dhe, Just used a torch at an oblique angle and have found the indicator, though I don’t intend to use it in the future.
My “owners manual” is the translation from JPNZ International Ltd, 1995-2000, but does not mention this. I have annotated my copy accordingly.

Low fuel warning light, if fitted, where is it
I’ve had my Bongo 14 years, and a low fuel warning light has never been an issue until now. Last week had to take my son to hospital and the fuel gauge was near empty, and it was a buttock clenching drive to the hospital in High Wycombe ( 15 miles from where I live) I got there ok and and when refue...

Hi, it arrived too late for Cropredy, but had a test run in the house and has been used "in the field" up at Slingsby in N Yorks. Fabulous bit of kit, no hesitatation in recommending if you like toasties. I use it on a single burner optimus (paraffin) stove. Have also cooked sausages &...

power steering fluid
Is this the same as the ATF fluid used in the gearbox? Can't find any info on it in the tech sheets on the members pages, or by searching Is there a recommended changing period ( either based on time or mileage) as with gearbox fluid and brake fluid ? I've just done the gearbox & have some ATF f...

Re: New stereo draining my battery (I think)
This is exactly the problem I am having, and correspondence with Martin re the Willington kit have confirmed that it is working ok ( I thought battery was back discharging through the system). I fitted an Erisin 2 DIN all singing/dancing radio DVD satnav unit, which works fine and no regrets about p...

Re: kerb weight
I posted in December that I had been refused an MOT test as the vehicle weight was not on the VIN plate, which caused me a lot of hassle. The MOT station would not accept the "generic weight" quoted in the handbook. Eventually got it MOT'd and the weight was stated as 1995 kg. This is for ...

Re: Servicing a 2.0 litre petrol Bongo, query on gearbox
Thanks for the practical suggestion. On the club fact sheet for changing ATF fluid, it mentions a 2' length of plastic pipe with a hose connector, but not how to use it I know this type of syphon, and will getting one to complete the job, it looks just the job. I jst find it amazing that you have to...

Re: Servicing a 2.0 litre petrol Bongo, query on gearbox
Geoff, thanks for your reply and photo. I've had another grope under the drivers seat and now found the dipstick. I've been converted to LPG, and the injectors are mounted directly over the dipstick obscuring it. The pointer in the photo of the V6 was the shape of the "handle" at the end o...

Servicing a 2.0 litre petrol Bongo, query on gearbox
Just completed my first service on a Bongo Following advice on this forum, bought a Pela oil pump, a good investment. For the info sheets, the 2.0 l only takes about 4 litres of oil on a change, including changing the filter, so I managed to overfill as I was using diesel engine info !! Air filter a...
