Leisure battery recommendations

It looks like the leisure battery in my Bongo needs replacing as it's a few years old now and not holding its charge. Can anyone recommend a good supplier and/or brand? I currently have a 115Ah which is plenty as we almost always camp with EHU so it just runs the fridge during journeys and the stere...

Re: cleaning glass on headlights

I've just tried to polish the cloudy glass on my 1999 Bongo's headlamps, but the Xerapol seems to have made it worse! I followed the instructions and used plenty of elbow grease but they now look uniformly cloudy rather than patchy. Any ideas where I've gone wrong and how to make them clear again?

Re: Rewording leisure battery devices

Hi, sorry for resurrecting an old thread but it seems to *almost* answer my question... Am I right in thinking that to wire the blinds to the leisure battery, you just have to run a wire from the LB to fuses 6&7? Should this mean that the switches in both the front and rear will then operate the...

Re: Bike racks

Just bumping this thread up again as I'm also interested in whether the Saris Bones rack will work with the Bongo. Has anyone tried it yet? We already have a Thule rack which stays on permanently, but it stops the tailgate from staying up and undoubtedly reduces the fuel economy, so I was wondering ...

Re: Rear cargo net for converted Bongo

I was thinking of something with smaller holes really. More string shopping bag than Army cargo net!

Rear cargo net for converted Bongo

Hi I've searched the forum but can't see an answer to this... can anyone recommend a cargo net to go at the rear of my converted Bongo? It's a side conversion and I need one that covers the back of the RnR bed to hold in the stuff we store on the back of the seat as well as things underneath it, whe...

Re: Rattling Tail Gate / Back Door

The tailgate door on my Bongo never used to shut properly and rattled, until I discovered that the pull-strap was getting trapped in the door seal. I taped it up to the door panel with gaffer tape and problem solved!

Re: Wild camping in or near bath

Not wild camping but a lovely basic campsite: the amusingly-named Merkins Farm   nr Bradford-on-Avon

http://www.merkinsfarm.com/camping/

Only £13 per pitch per night (+£2 for EHU if you want it), super cafe with lovely breakfasts and a nice pub at the end of the lane.

Re: Sky Lift Roof - anyone got one?

I have the Skylift roof with the stormproof plastic panel tent as we had major leaks through the mesh zips of my original roof ten during a heavy rainstorm the first year I had my Bongo. (Phil changed the tent over f.o.c.). I was worried about condensation but it's not too much of an issue if you ma...

Headlining glue

This isn't strictly a pimp, more of a repair, but thought this was a good place to post... I have a converted tintop Bongo and in the recent hot weather the glue on the headlining has melted and strips of it have come off. Can anyone recommend a heat-proof glue for re-attaching the fabric? It's a ki...

Re: Damp headlining / courtesy light

Just adding another post as I'm still having this issue, though on re-reading the previous posts it looks like some folk are having this problem when their roof is down - mine only occurs when it's up. I was thinking of removing the headlining to have a look underneath (or rather above it) - is it a...
