Re: Servicing in the Region

Mike! I thought I'd already replied... so sorry for not saying thank you sooner... so Thank You! Mo's were great... even if they did have to replace the cylinder header! All the staff there were very friendly. Oddly, they seemed to be expecting me... hmmm... The van runs much better now and h...

Mo's of Fenstanton still any good?

Hi All! Mo's of Fenstanton still any good? The post was started some time ago. Moved to just west of Cambridge back in November and am having trouble finding a reliable garage, even for an oil change. My local KwikFit used to do it in Harrow, but in CB they won't touch a Bongo. Another national chai...

Ahhhhh... I was thinking of the Brisbane just outside Staines!

Only excuse I have is I'm suffering from a cold and can't see straight.

Re: FUEL PUMP LEAK

Hi!

FYI I had my fuel pump seals replaced at Lakeside Garage. Seals cost £7 but no idea about labour as included with a service and other work. Might be worth giving them a call for a quote.

Cheers,
Al.

Re: No boost until 3200rpm

Thanks for the tips! Will use sparingly... only when I'm having real trouble escaping a side turning! Cheers, Al. PS. Skater... just sent you a follow-up PM and a reply on the Chunkier Tyres discussion (http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=38049) Thanks again for your help.

Re: No boost until 3200rpm

Hi all, Further to my post above, the performance improvement ummm... improves! After a full service at Lakeside, including adjustment to the timing and replacing the seals in the fuel pump, throttle response and kickdown is much better. Still not amazing pulling into traffic, but it may be I've bee...

Re: No boost until 3200rpm

Hi Again, My problems now seem to be mostly solved... Previously, I'd fiddled with the Throttle Position Sensor which seemed to make a little improvement to the uphill performance. I then added BG44K, recommended by my local KwikFit to remove diesel engine deposits. Had little effect, until I return...

Re: No boost until 3200rpm

In answer to your question, BongoMTBer, mine's a '95 2.5turbo. I've only just purchased the vehicle, so not had time to get it serviced. It may be that sorts it all out for me. My lack of power issues are quite similar to Berrega's here (http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?p=379144#...

Re: No boost until 3200rpm

Hi Kiteman!

Did you get this resolved? I have a bit of a similar problem. Just bought a slightly under-powered Bongo and its boost isn't there until 3000ish.

I've not had time to service it properly, to get all the possibles out of the way yet. Just wondering if you sorted yours.

Cheers,
Al.
