The old one I had which, I think, was an Electrolux vented to the outside of the vehicle.

Re: Quest fridge - any one tried one of these?

Cool boxes are usually capable of reducing the temperature by 10 degrees compared to ambient so on a hot day they aren't that great - they are not a fridge but one might suffice. I used to have a 3-way fridge in an old Bedford CF and I will at some point fit one to the Bongo as we do do some wild ca...

Re: Multiple temperature sensors (Arduino)

Can you get the scaling correct? I'm wondering why the battery voltage is dropping when you accelerate, where is the load coming from?

Re: Coolant pressure sensor

I'm pretty sure that the temperature bouncing up and down is the result of the thermostat cycling, its opening at 90C and closing at 80C which sounds about right. The pressure chart is following the thermostat and peaking at 17psi - isn't that the rating of the cap?

Are you talking to a UK representative or just their on-line help?

Re: Coolant pressure sensor

I am aware that this sensor measures pressure relative to a sealed vacuum, whereas I really want a differential pressure sensor with one port open to atmosphere. I could always use two and compensate in software. ;) You don't need a differential sensor just a relative pressure sensor. I once did a ...

Re: Coolant pressure sensor

That type of sensor is not designed for use with fluids, I would try and find one that is although when I've used them in the past they have been quite expensive.

More ECU Information

This is Scuffer's ECU which came to me for testing. This is from a 200 model and is quite different from the earlier ECU that we looked at before, but quite similar to a lot of other Mitsubishi ECUs of its era. Main processor is an MH7203FA. http://www.rhinopower.org/ECUs/Bongo/images/2000_Bongo_ECU...

OK so we need a picture of the fuel injector pump gear, at least we know what we're looking for.

NE Sensor

I'm currently playing with Helen's HUD unit and trying to understand how to interface the Bongo sensors to the Swoosh unit. Does anyone have a picture of the trigger 'wheel' for the NE Sensor, it doesn't look like it is triggered from the crank, maybe from another pulley on the timing belt. I have a...

Re: Help - my lambda probe won't work

If you have a fault code then the ECU is unlikely to go into closed loop mode so you won't see the lambda sensor switch. If you're vehicle is designed for a 2-wire sensor then you shouldn't run a 4-wire sensor as it will run too hot; running directly from a 12V supply is also not a good idea, the he...

Re: Rev Counter sensor location *Dont delete*

Sorry to hijacy but while we're on the subject do you know if its a VR sensor or a Hall Effect sensor? I'm guessing VR as they call it NE. How many teeth are there?

Re: Captive Nuts

You can also get shouldered nuts which can avoid having to weld a plate on a 'normal' nut. I used to keep all my old rounded off nuts for jobs like these but about 20 years ago I bought a Metrinch socket set and haven't rounded off a nut since.

The Bongo has a Wideband sensor? that doesn't seem likely are you sure its not just a standard 4-wire sensor?

Re: Interesting post

I've been wondering about something like this myself. I think I would do something like this is I ever had a head go on my Bongo. The cost of repair v replacement with the benefits of a more modern engine makes it well worth considering. The downside is that there would be a lot of wiring to do to g...
