Re: Cam Belt

A few years ago we had a AFT 2.0 which we took in part exchange, it had a new cambelt supposedly the year before from a well known campervan conversion centre, the belt let go when we sold it on on stripping it hadn't been replaced, the head had to come off and I think two valves needed to be replac...

Re: TowBars

The A1 version is the only version we fit on our sales cars, the others certainly were very in adequate in comparison. If A1 are doing them £110 fitted inc VAT I would take it straight there, I will take mine there and have them do it rather than buy them trade from them and fit them myself.

Re: next question from the newbie that just bought a pig lol

sorry just picking up on TOW, never tow an auto unless rear wheels suspended, if its a 4WD it must MUST go on a flat bed, on a 2WD the auto box will be spinning over without the pump going and it will knacker drive bands and other things if it gets hot, 4WD it can do the same and knacker the transfe...

Re: newbie to bongos, newbie to the forum, already broken dow

fairly common problem sadly, you can get a hard plastic T piece as used in Autogas conversions and put this where the T in metal pipe is and a couple of pipe joiners and a length of heater hose and some jubilee clips and recreate the pipe in rubber hose and these joiners and T and then ensure jubile...

Re: Is BP dropping the supply of Autogas?

Hydrogen is a way off, the difficulties in compressing it as it doesn't compress to liquid as efficiently as LPG so you would need a very large tank to get good range and the very small molecule size of hydrogen means special composite tanks and fittings will be required. The hotter burning temperat...

Re: V6 Alternators

Yes I said it was likely the right hand bank cam seals, or rocker cover gasket and watch out for it as it takes the alternator out. The other issue when the seals leak is oil on the cambelt leading to it not lasting as long as it should.

Re: V6 Alternators

V6 suffers from oil dropping into it from either rocker cover seals or cam oil seals the oil causes either the diode pack to overheat due to contamination and dust turning to a kind of sticky mess all over it, or the bearings fail due to dusty/oily mess finding their way onto them, either are really...

Re: "Total" coolant loss (V6)

Top seal on rad isnt uncommon, but the plastic tank on the top of the rad can also become brittle doesnt happen often on a Bongo but almost every Mitsubishi I ever brought had to have a rad fitted before I would sell it. Low coolant alarm, fit one, bit like a parachute on a plane, never want to need...
