Re: Refurb or Replace - 1997 2.5TD
Yep, sounds a beaut. :) Yep, it was our V6 he bought. I spent a year fixing every niggle I could find, which did end up costing a small fortune, but at least it's sorted now. We got a bigger van, so couldn't afford to run two. Definitely a different beast to the diesel. Less grunt low down, but ple...

Re: (A warning) Waxoyl in sills still smells after 4 months
The same happened to ours, but I can say the smell went away eventually. As said above, the warm weather will help. If you have wind deflectors on the front windows (which stop rain getting in) , it might be worth leaving the windows open half an inch to allow air circulation. Nowadays I prefer the ...

Re: So long, farewell...
A mate of ours was selling his Autosleepers Symbol for a good price. It's a Peugeot Boxer and the shortest one with a loo at 5.4 metres. To be honest I've been less than impressed with the quality of the van. They are basically a builders van underneath so built to a budget. At least the conversion ...

So long, farewell...
After 11 years of Bongoing in our 2.5TD, then our V6, we've finally become Bongoless. The diesel now lives in Ireland, and the V6 went to its new owner Chris yesterday. We've changed to a larger van (apparently toilets are important) so we couldn't keep 2 vehicles. We've loved camping in our Bongo -...

Re: No power in rear socket
Hi. Yes the fusible link seems OK. There doesn't seem to be any power on the incoming wiring. So will check the loom. Front ciggy is fine.

Re: No power in rear socket
Thanks Geoff.
I'll try and work out which module is at fault.

Re: Bulb wattage (cup holder console)
Just an update. The 1.7watt T10 bulb works well and is just the right brightness.

No power in rear socket
Hi all There's no power in the rear socket (ciggy lighter). Our Bongo has has the original inverter and 2 pin socket also, but there's no power to any of it. The front ciggy lighter works fine, so it's not the main fuse (fuse 8 ). Plus the fusible link seems to be intact. I've tested the incoming co...

Re: Voltage Sensing Relay (VSR) failure
We went for a simple but effective Lucas 30A split charge relay. Connects both batteries with ignition on. Isolates the SB when ignition off to ensure it doesn't get drained when camping.
I preferred to know exactly what's going on rather than trust a VSR. But I'm probably paranoid.

Yep, we replaced our straight fluorescent tube with an LED direct replacement. It made a big difference.

Re: Bulb wattage (cup holder console)
Thanks for the input. I've ordered a 1.7 watt conventional T10 bulb and will see how that goes.
Currently using an LED T10, but it's a bit bright for the cupholder and illuminates the whole cab !

Re: Bulb wattage (cup holder console)
Hi thanks. I don't have the old bulb otherwise that's what i would have done.
Hopefully someone has a bulb with the wattage on it.

Re: Bulb wattage (cup holder console)
Thanks - it shows that it could be a 3 watt like the dash bulbs, so hopefully someone will confirm.
