Re: Comparing EGR/idle/solenoid valve stay?? tubes

If you read this related thread there is a photo of the fast idle solenoids http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=43354&p=441641&hilit=+solenoid#p441641. Is this the area you want a better photo of or even a diagram off lush projects perhaps. There is also a thread &...

Re: Diesel leak at output end of pump

The centre bolt is a fuel bleeding point & should have a washer under it.You shouldn't have any issues removing that one & inspecting that washer & replacing it if necessary. The larger bolt that the small centre one threads into should also unscrew, BUT I'm not sure what is behind that ...

Re: Diesel pump seals

After looking at your photo & then re-reading my attached threads I am unclear which way round the 2 items should be assembled but I am certain they should be inserted into the injection pump before the coil springs.I would try putting your 2 items together & seeing which way they seem to fi...

This thread by dandywarhol shows how to change the pump seals with pictures http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15644&hilit=+diesel+pump+seals It could also be a case of air in the injection pump & it just wants bleeding. This thread should help http://www.igmaynard...

Happened to look under the bonnet of an 07 Ranger this morning & I'm sure it had 3 pipes off the head but the engine was a twin cam shaft diesel.

Re: Injectop Pump Stop Valve

About 3mm or 1/8" old money if I recall correctly. If you remove the valve from the pump & put a live to it whilst earthing the valve body you should see the plunger kick in & out. Check for muck in the general solenoid valve area including on top of the rubber plunger in between the co...

Re: steel wheels and tyre sizes

You really shouldn't put worn tyres on the front axle of a 4WD Bongo and new tyres on the rear, because the rolling circumference of the wheels on the front axle will be different to the wheels on the rear axle. This will put stress on the Viscous Coupling (VC) as it copes with the difference, resul...

Re: Is this symptomatic of a thermostat stuck open (or missing)?

When you say "the heaters are feeble", were they the same feebleness before you drained the coolant? If so & you are happy that you have got all of the air out of the cooling system then I see no problems in the next couple of weeks. HOWEVER if the heaters were hotter before you draine...

Anyone going to Solfest?

Well we have finally cleaned up all the vomit  (see thread in Bongoing with Children...) and are off this weekend to our local bash - the Solway Festival, aka Solfest. It's a great little festival near Silloth in West Cumbria, somewhat out of the way for most people which makes it a bit of a ...

Jaylee. Any chance of a bit more information about " your role of stuff " What it's called & where you purchased it from would be a great help...(in a none advertising type way) & then I feel some open lung surgery coming on to help Bongo inhabitants breath more easily.... t...

Re: how to check the oil

You are correct, the engine is indeed under the seats. First park your Bongo on level ground & stop the engine. You need to remove the center console tray. This is held down by 2 grey plastic wing nuts, one under the large ashtray & one inside the rear box/tray. Then go to the passenger side ...

Re: Service costs ?

When you bought your Bongo in July, you said that it had a cylinder head, a timing belt fitted & "a service". I would of thought that the parts you mention should have been fitted. Engine oil & filter need replacing every 3000-6000 miles (5000-10,000km) depending on quality of oil ...

Re: TM2 temp

Ours tends to sit about the low 90's when being driven about on the roads. It does rise to the mid 90's on hills but always falls back again fairly quickly once over the top. Once whilst sat in stationary traffic for ages on the M5/M6 on a hot sunny day, it got to 98 but at that point I turned on th...

Here's an alternative way to earth your fuel tank that doesn't involve trying to get the sender unit screws out. http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=38228&hilit=earthing+fuel+sender+unit Just remember if you do drill, drill a hole in the lip only & NOT through the ...
