Re: magic carpet had turned into a brick!
rear is soft but its the front that is causing the issues...if you go over a full with speed hump or even just a 1" drop kerb , the front feels like there is no compliance at all but the rear just soaks 'em up without fuss.

Re: magic carpet had turned into a brick!
Is it rock hard and not moving or pitching and wallowing? Not quite sure from your description which it is. I'm assuming the garage has checked the obvious ones but if there is something amiss with the roll bar you will be pitching from side to side and making people feel sick as you describe. I do...

magic carpet had turned into a brick!
over the last 2-3 years the ride in the old bus had deteriorated to the point where it is now just plain nasty to drive. the best way I can describe it that it feels like a chavved up corsa riding around on £2.99 ebay coilovers set on "max hard"!! the rear is as soft and fluffy as you woul...

Re: Excessive brake pedal travel?
Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years anyway, so now is probably a good a time as any. Not sure what sort of cars you'd want to adjust the rear drum to fix poor braking performance, but things have moved on since the days of the Ford Popular and the like :). plenty of current cars still have...

300 mile trip later , can only assume that , for whatever reason , it was the pads &/or disc that were causing the weird noises. happy days!!

Re: Bongo windscreens?
we had a new one fitted in ours by autoglass. their central booking system was an arse but the guys in the local depot were good as gold. would you you believe it but we picked up a MASSIVE chip right in the middle of the drivers field of vision a couple of days before it was due to go in for paint ...

Re: front passenger seat
years ago having done beautiful repair to the floor of my mums mgb I sent her back to our local mot station (minus seat to show off to tester) for the re-test only for her to come back for me to fit the seat as he refused to test the car without it. he's not normally too fussy about stuff (if you kn...

Re: odd front end noise?
so don't want to tempt fate but I think we have finally cracked the damned noise!! after replacing cv & wheel bearing (both needed doing anyway) stripping caliper , replacing brake flexi , changing caliper and still having the same symptom (hub getting hot and making a weird creaking noise) , as...

side door hardware.
our sliding door had got a little noisy , so out with the lubricant this morning and job done. but ... the outer runner seems a little "slacker" than I remember from the last time I had a close look. should the section that sticks up into the top of the channel have a guide or bush of some...

Re: Waxoil or Underseal?
you can get underseal with waxoyl in it. it stays a little tacky but is great stuff. if you have access to a compressor and schults gun , you can mix your own too. if just applying waxoyl , I normally add a drop of white spirit or (carefully) warm on a stove to thin it down and then run it through a...

another successful one from the past has been ..... "good morning/afternoon , cornwall bra services , what size cup do you require?" . it quite often ended in click..brrrrr. result!!
